My crappy four day weekend continues ...

May I just whine for a minute? Then I'll stop, and you can go about your business.

I visited my mom in Florida over this past 4 day weekend. She wasn't feeling well and by Monday we had checked her into the hospital. Apparently, she was having some medication interactions as well as withdrawal symptoms from a drug she had stopped taking. Of course, it was very upsetting and the only reason why I came home was because my brother is with her and we decided I would fly back if there were any complications. Which there weren't. *knock wood*

During the course of the weekend I broke my cell phone. And caught a cold. I flew back with the sniffles and so my ear is still blocked. I don't think it's infected, but I feel terrible. I'm thinking of leaving work soon (Yes, I came to work. I don't stay home unless I can't move. Which might very well be tomorrow).

At least I didn't come home to find anymore dead mice on the floor.

I wanted to send my wishes and hugs but I also have to tell you that when I saw your tag - I thought for a second you were talking about my brother! His name is Doug Wilson and we always tease him about the Doug on TLC. Here's one of my favorite pics of "my" Doug at MGM on 12/26 freezing cold and stuffing a turkey leg in his mouth:

I feel for you. We had similar problems with my grandmother. She has Alzheimer's and she would always forget to take her medicine. Oh lord the problems arising there. She was always suicidal, crying, in pain, etc. She was always brought into the emergency room. Finally, her children decided she needed to go to a home. Now before anyone gets upset or anything, this is a very good home. We visit her a couple times a week and it's really nice there. Anyways, since she's been there she started halucinating (sp). I did some research and found out this was a side effect of a medication she was on (which she never took regularly before) and that it would go away as she continued to take her medicine. They went away. Now she is eating, has someone to make sure she takes her medicine, and we home getting social interaction.

But this good stuff won't last for long. My grandma's kidney's are failing and I think she has an anurizism (sp).



Anyways, if it makes you feel better, I had a bad weekend too. I found out one of my best friends from college is a crack#&(*^ and another one of my best friends just went back to jail (whatever he did, he deserves to go back to jail). I know it's not as bad as your mother.
