My coolest Kilimanjaro Safaris experience ever

I love all these stories! Kilimanjaro Safari is one of our favourite rides, always different.
First time we rode it, my niece was 4 years old, they still had the poachers' storyline and the tiny animatronics elephant at the end. She was so worried about him!

When we came back, she was 15, and wherever we went she said she didn't remember much of our previous trip, but when we got to KS, she asked "wasn't this the ride with the baby elephant? I remember it!" :)

We've been on Safari so many times, we love it. Each one is different. This summer, we had one that was truly magical. On the same safari, we saw...

Herd of wildebeest rampaging through the savannah.
Springbok leaping all over the place due to the wildebeest (this became a theme throughout the ride, we saw both the rampaging wildebeest and the reacting springbok several times as we went through the savannah).
Giraffe walked right across the road in front of our truck, we had to stop for it, so we were within a few feet
We had to stop for no less than 15-20 minutes because of the wildebeest still rampaging...we stopped right where the elephants were and watched them play
The cheetah actually got up and ran...not top speed, but fast enough to see how beautiful they are (in all our rides before, we had never seen them running, usually just laying down)
Lions were up and walking, and the male roared twice

It was fabulous!!!

For those of you who have ridden multiple times, is the first ride the best time? We've never been, and will be there in December this year. I know animals are typically most active in the morning and evening, but it seems like you all have had such diverse experiences!

Our FP was for early afternoon last September and the animals were VERY active! It was a great ride!

We rode early in the Am two years ago at Thanksgiving. The giraffes were out roaming around and stopped right in front of our truck. We sat there for about 20 mins until one of the team members came out with food and moved them off the road. They would munch on trees and then just stare at us as to saw what you gonna do huh. Per the driver they are not allowed to try to move them at all since we are in their habitat. It was really cool to see them that close up.
