Bonus day!!


Boss is having a party for son. OF COURSE Miss Info is invited (Boss' son calls her grandma) They are going to Brookfield Zoo which is a large zoo here. Boss wants to eat outside so the kids can run around. Miss Info starts telling boss about how she doesn't want to sit outside in the sun, so she will be bringing a sun canopy with her to put up at the zoo. I asked later, and it's one of those things you put up in your yard like a tent without the sides. She seriously thinks that A) The zoo is going to let her bring something like that in. and B) Her husband is going to lug this thing through the whole zoo to the food area and then lug it back to the car.

Then someone was talking to her about the Rob and Big show on MTV and mentioned that Rob had a minituare horse. Her response. "Oh those things are exact replicas of real horses." Um they are real horses.


Oh and just so you all know, Bourbon St in New Orleans is just full of prostitutes. No restaurants, clubs or anything, just prostitutes.

So those are my stories for the day, so far. I notice it's not even noon.

Well shoot, no wonder my DH wants to go there!!!

OMG, I think I sat next to her at the July 4 parade in 2006. A local llama/alpaca farm comes down the street in the parade. I have to say one of them was trimmed really oddly -- like a poodle. But the animals were still obviously alpacas/llamas. My dd and I are talking about them, because I love these animals.

Woman next to me interrupts us and asks, "WHAT are those things?

Me: "Llamas."

Woman: "Oh....Are they real?"

Me: "Real?"

Woman: "Like are they alive or are they robots?"

Me: "Real."

Woman: "Huh." [smartest thing she's said all day.]

I seriously just spent about 4 hours reading this entire thread! I laughed, I cried, I was appalled. I think this thread deserves some sort of award.

She's OBVIOUSLY never been to NOLA. The prostitutes are on the streets BETWEEN the restaurants and clubs.

OK, just had to say a couple of things. First of all, I was having a bad day/night and I read this thread. Thanks for the laughs.

I had an 8th grade teacher who said that Mormons don't believe in driving cars, that's why you see the missionaries on bikes. She didn't believe me when I told her that's not true, Donny Osmond has a car! Yeah, this was a long time ago.

And, my mil told me that Elizabeth Taylor married Nicky Hilton, so Elizabeth Taylor is Paris Hilton's mother. So, either Paris Hilton is in her 50's, or Elizabeth Taylor had her VERY late in life.

I have visited New Orleans twice, both times by myself. On one visit I walked down Bourbon street alone. Now I wonder what I looked like??? Anyway, I didn't see any obvious prostitutes...lots of drunk people, but no obvious women of the night. Maybe it was just a slow night.

I have also been to NO. Stayed just half a block away and didn't see prostitutes. Did see transvestites heading to their jobs at the strip club though! Misinformation would love that.

Yes!!! I understand. Mine knows something about everything and never shuts up. She's like you look busy, then tells me a story, which turns into another one and another one. At first I thought it was because she didn't have many friends, but she has more friends than anyone I know.

She's also diagnosed me and half of the office with some type of ailment relating to ADHD or autism (her daughter is high functioning autistic). I just have no words sometimes.

ARRRGH! Now I'm not going to be able to see that book ever again without hearing "Mooo moo ssshhhh shhh" in my head!! And that's a GREAT kids book... then again, any kids book that includes the word "ultimatium" is a great book as far as I'm concerned!
