I'm going to have to upload a picture because it really has to be seen to be believed:sad2:I work p/t for a national retailer. I've been working my you know what off for them the past month because they didn't hire any Christmas help. The sales have been trending between 20%-30% up from last year, so we've been very busy.
My gift from them this year- a twin pack of generic Hostess type cupcakes:headache: They even had the nerve to write on the package " Happy Holidays From The Corporate Headquarters":headache:.
I know a gift is just that, a gift, but this one just has me:sad2:

:confused3 Seriously? Who had to go out and get this "gift"? The Manager?

Have you opened them yet? Maybe there is something inside of the package???

No the only thing inside the package is 2 smallish cupcakes. I'll try to take a picture and post it.

OMG!!! How weird.

I think I would have rather received a nice card, or even a gift certificate to the store.

I've never received a Christmas bonus, so I guess I've never expected one. Everyplace I've ever worked has given a token gift like that - a Candy Bar or something like that. I always thought it was a reasonable gesture since they're giving 100's of them.:confused3

Last year from my PT employer all the regular "production" workers got a holiday cookbook filled with recipes from all the management/executives....which would have been fine, except it was in PDF format!!!

That was just about too much for me. I would have preferred a generic e-mail wishing everying Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays with no mention of this "gift" they were ALL so proud of giving. :sad2:

OMG, that's just weird. I've heard of many tacky gifts, but that might just take the 'cake' (sorry).

For what it's worth, I also work for a big retailer and we get a big pile of nothing for the holidays. :guilty: Not even an early dismissal.

Oh well, tacky or not, at least they did 'something'. Enjoy those cupcakes ;)

I probably would have wanted the buck it cost for them to take to the dollar tree and really splurge. Geez...

Are you sure they're generic, 'cause if they're Tastykake brand, you have an awesome gift there! Just sayin'...I love Tastykakes!

wow weren't you just lucky to get such a nice gift......(insert roll eyes here lol)

SORRY, to me I might just be insulted, but the laughing would make that hard.

We've not gotten anything from our workplace for Christmas. Last year was the first time in years they'd had a party and it was mostly the night shift who did alot of the gift swapping.

They could at least also given you a pint of milk to wash it down with:rotfl2:

Okay, here's a picture (sorry not the greatest, but these were really small, and hard to take a good photo of them!):

I would rather receive nothing than be insulted with this "gift".

:rotfl2:

Sorry, but that is just wierd.

FWIW, I work for a hospital, we haven't gotten a Christmas gift in a few years. The Nurse Manager(s) and the doctors, used to chip in for a small party (right on the unit)....but not in a few years now.

I get kind of annoyed because, at work, I give a small gift to the aides, etc who make my job so much easier. I really rely on them and they are a major help to me so I give a gift to show my appreiation. I feel as if the bosses could/should do the same thing. I was going to say any token would be nice....but then again, it could be those generic cup cakes and I wouldn;t know what to think :lmao:

Enjoy your cup cakes...maybe you should place them under the tree till Christmas morning, then open and enjoy them ;)
