I just found out my brother (he's 11) has to have another heart surgery. This one is scheduled for Nov. 7th and this time it is an angioplasty (how do you spell this?) with a possible shunt (sp?) and a lot of scoping and tests. The problem is the "seam" where his donor valve meets his 'original' tissue, it's closing in. Hopefully it goes well and there won't be the need for open-heart, which he has already gone through, as well as other procedures/surgery. He's on limited activity and can't participate with his class in PE or recess
He can continue karate as long as he doesn't get his heart rate up. He doesn't seem to worried, though our mother is a wreck. Any pixie dust or prayers you could throw his way would be appreciated, I'm always a mess around his surgery times. Thanks.
