My Biggest Pet Peeve is....

I absolutely CANNOT STAND those Nextel 2-Ways! People always seem to feel they have to talk a TON louder than even with normal cellphones. And the loud beeping noise the phone makes drives me nuts, too. I always feel like I should yell, "Breaker, Breaker 1-9!" really loud like we're all truckers standing in line at WDW!

1. People who think they are too special & don't have to move all the way to the end of a row (& pretend they don't understand English when asked to move down) therby causing everyone behind them to have to climb over them in order to get a seat.

2. People who can't wait 45 second for another elevator & insist on cramming in (usually with strollers w/5 year olds in them).

Here is another vote for people who just stop. If you don't know where you are/need to rest/want to take a picture/want to stand there for no reason, step to the side. There are plenty of places to stop and smell the roses.

People who let their kids run down the hallway at the resort. Newsflash: My room is there! Those doors have PEOPLE behind them. Sometimes those people are sleeping.

People who talk too loudly in their rooms. I don't need to hear your conversation. I don't care what little Johnny did today. I don't care that you have a blister. I simply don't care and don't want to hear about it.

People who slam their drawers in their rooms. Another Newsflash: Your wall isn't the only wall...it's connected to MY wall.

People who stomp around. You're not hovering in midair. Your floor is my ceiling.

People who slam their doors or use the lock thing to prop the door open letting the door slam on that. Bring your key with you when you go get ice, please.

Most of my issues revolve around the resort....people being loud and obnoxious when I'm trying to decompress and relax. Since there is nothing to be done about the Turbo Flushing, we can at least try and be considerate of each other. :teeth:

Here's another -

People intentionally feeding the seagulls! (Particularly in Frontier Land)

Trying to dodge dive bombing birds while I'm walking is particularly stressful for me (and a source of entertainment for my DH).

When people stand waaaayyy to close to you when it is completely unecisary :wizard:

People who cut in front of my stroller with millimeters to spare. You should give a stroller, wheelchair, etc. the same clearance that you would give a human being.

People using electric wheelchairs who don't know how to use them -- driving too fast for crowd and or unable/unwilling to use the brake in large crowds. I've seen many people mowed down by electric vehicles at WDW.

People who crowd you -- waiting for parades and waiting in line. "Oh, I see you've been waiting an hour for the parade to start and your son has 2 inches of room next to him. Would it be a problem if my three kids squeeze into that space?"

WDW would be just about perfect if we could get rid of the rude people.

My pet peeve is related to Fast Pass. People who go to the FP return 5 or 10 minutes early. When they aren't let in, they wait right in front of the entrance. So, those of us in our FP window can't get through. There is a clock right above the entrance!

I'm relatively new to this board and am surprised how many people are annoyed by parents yelling at their kids. It has come to mind recently (with my trip to the park coming up in 2 weeks :Pinkbounc ) when I'm out with my kids (3 and 1) and have had to raise my voice to them.

Kids are a work in progress, it is my place as a parent to discipline them at home, in a store, or at WDW. Not everyone disciplining their children are running them ragged and then holding it against them. I plan to raise my voice or yell at my kids if they do not act appropriately.

Now, with that said I guess my pet peeve is people who don't want kids to run wild, but don't want them in harnesses, but don't want the parents to yell at them because it's their vacation, but don't want them running down the halls at the resort...Obviously we'll never be able to satisfy everyone. By taking care of half of you - we annoy the other half.

To me there is a difference between disciplining and controlling a child and simply yelling at them. I have seen parents who just scream at their kids for no good reason, probably brought on a lot by the heat or them just being grumpy people to begin with. Just my observation :rolleyes1

Everybody has their own parenting style. My style was not to shout at my kids. So it wasn't hard for me to not shout at them in public, either. If they needed reprimanded in public, it was with my making eye contact and speaking so only they could hear me. Oh! There was the time that one of the kids starting doing something dangerous on the other side of the yard. I shouted sharply to them not do that. One of the ladies I was sitting with looked at me oddly and said she'd never heard me shout at the kids and didn't know I ever did it.

people who stick their arm out to take a photo with their mobile phone with no concern for others walking by

My biggest pet peeve is pet peeves themselves. Sometimes I care too much whether it's good/bad with what I see in every day life. Does everyone agree, pet peeves stink!

People who are always in a hurry! They push and shove and knock into you with out so much as a sorry!

I walk slower then most because of my bad knees, I try to walk over to the side and this is any place I go, not just WDW, but walk ways are not always wide enough for several people and I am sorry but you will have to slow down some times and be considerate of others.

Walking in a large group of people is no different then driving a car, always be prepared to stop. :flower:

people stoping infront of you. I find it most annoying at the malls when for some reason people ALWAYS use the bottom or the top of the escalators as a meeting place.

2nd pet peeve is when people expect / want me to stop holding hands with my husband. I am sorry but why can't they go around us why do they feel they have to go thru us. It is not like we are 6 peole forming a chain across the walkway :confused3

The other one is the Brazilian tour groups. For those who take their vacation in July, we all know who they are. Those are some loud teens who think they are entitled to do what they want in WDW.

Same thing happened to me. They were trying to but in line and they were all saying bad stuff to my cousin in English and their language. and they were jumping around and screaming. This was in IOA, but still.

1. Foul language.
2. Smoking outside the smoking areas
3. People in clothing 3 sizes too small (teens on the heavy side seem to most often be guilty of this)
4. I removed #4 because, folks just can't handle the truth.

1. People who don't try to move to the side when they are headed right for you...a little courtesy goes a long way..we're not playing chicken :headache:

2. 5 and only 5 to a seat on the tram.....This means that you can not squeeze you, your 3 kids, spouse and stroller into the row I already occupy with my family.

I too hate the people stopping. It is not easy to go around you! However, when it is kids wandering off, I always stop and let them walk wherever. Little ones rarely pay attention and I am much closer to the ground at 5'1" than DH, so I see them and know he won't.

People talking on cell phones on rides.

AND MY HUGE ONE: DH's work calling us on VACATION because something "broke" and needs to be fixed NOW. No, the user is a moron and it works fine... at least that is always the answer. We usually step into a little cove somewhere to deal with this call. They absolutely tick me off, but I do understand that DH has to "fix" them or be blamed with costing the company a lot of money in ruined items. (No specifics ;) )

Absolutely cannot stand people who feel that just because they have young children that they deserve to be ahead of me no matter where we are in WDW - especially the character lines!!!

Ex. We're standing in line to meet Flick. I was 21 - I still loved Flick, I'm still going to meet him! The character wrangler says that Flick will only be out for a few more people. The dad behind me had a little girl that I was GOING to let go in front of me. Obviously she would have really loved to meet Flick. Fine. THEN the dad goes "This is absolutely ridiculous. You need to take these adults out of line (insert glare at me here). Walt Disneyworld is for kids and you don't need to meet Flick." I am immediately offended and continue to stand in line. Then he starts muttering nasty comments about me just loud enough for me to hear them. Nope, sorry buddy, not letting your kid ahead of me anymore. Last I check Walt Disneyworld is for kids of ALL ages!!

And the people who don't move to the end of the row. They kill me every time.

(Hi Davids-Coco!!)

How long have you got!

1. You're in the queue (I mean 'line') and the people behind you insist on getting as close to you as they can. Hey - where are you going? Cos you're not getting in front of us.

2. When I open doors for others who then walk on through and don't utter a word of thanks.

3. Parents who let their kids swing on the chains used to organise the queues. Those same chains then swing in to my toddler's face.

As you can see, we're on a roll.....

4. Flash photography in dark attractions - just STOP IT! Or we will have to say something and we don't really want to do that.

And finally (for now - cos we've been on the site for more than an hour and we were only coming on for 30 mins. Oops!)

5. People who are arranging a photo and you kindly stop so that you do not walk in between the photographer and his/her subject. Does it really take some people that long to take a photo! So long, that people begin to form a queue behind us thinking it's some sort of Character Greet!

P.S. Don't we sound like candidates to wear the Grumpy t-shirts!! :hyper:
