I can't get by for six days without washing clothes for my family of four! Besides, it doesn't take long, just a couple hours at the most.

Funny how we are all different. We learned long ago how very much easier it is to travel lighter and do laundry while we're away. Rather than taking a ton and a half of clothes, we just bring enough for about half the trip and do a couple of loads of wash mid-week. That's one of the best things about renting a house or condo - having a washer and dryer right in the room so we can throw laundry in without stepping outside.

We made the monumental mistake of having dinner at Concourse at 6 PM on a night that Spectro went at 8 PM. Stupid, stupid! By the time we ate and got over to MK it was PACKED. I mean PACKED. There were people as far as the eye could see. There were so many people the CM's had us walk around BEHIND Tony's Town Square in this back alley that ended up at the Noodle place in Tomorrowland. From there we were told to walk to Frontierland. We got a spot on the porch of of the Daimond Horseshoe Saloon (or whatever - the place where Woody & Jessie do meet & greet) but there were people everywhere in front of us. This was on a Wednesday night so it was EMH, and it was the only night Spectro was showing until that Saturday when they were calling for rain from Wilma. Our view wasn't bad, but the longer we stood there the more people packed in around us. Not fun.

I wouldn't ever cut it that close for Spectro again. Need more time to get in place for the parade than we had.

spectro was a huge eye opener for me too!!

Crazy is all I can say!!!

Be prepared, be very very prepared!!!!

It was quite a few trips ago, but I learned about "big meal fatigue" when I scheduled three sit-down meals per day. Now, I plan no more than two meals a day and schedule them accordingly. If we are doing a breakfast at Boma, I schedule it for 9:30, do not plan lunch, and schedule dinner for 5:30. We can always get a snack if we need it. Too much food makes us feel horrible and slows us down.

I prefer to eat fewer big meals and enjoy them more.

One mistake we made on our trip before last was to take too many photos. Weird, I know, but we were always looking for the "perfect shot" and weren't enjoying what we were doing as much. The last trip we didn't take our camera and could really enjoy everything we were seeing and doing. Much Much Better.

I can completely relate to this as I'm big on getting photos of things but even though I brought my camera along, I made a point not to go nuts with the photos. I mean no disrespect to others, but I really didn't understand the people who were taking photos or video inside the rides. And I was really getting irritated with the people today at the Magic Kingdom who were taking flash photos in It's a Small World.

Thank TINK for playing paintball at WWoS 2 times a year .

OMG, can you please tell me when they do this? This would really help my sister in convincing her DH to go!

First trip was a land and sea pkg. This was right after 9/11. I knew nothing about discount codes, booking the land and sea portions separate, how to save money or anything.

totally agree
i love taking photos normally and now am kind of sorry i didn't spend a little more time doing so( actually i'm more bummed that my camera was not working right and so the few i took are not all that good but that's another topic)but it sure was nice not to fool with it while we were there

Disagree with you guys on the pictures. We have all our Disney pics on our computer at home as our screen saver. I will turn on the computer just so the pictures can run. It is like having a mini slideshow on all the time and makes Disney seem not so far away.

I would have scheduled my dinner ressies later. I chose 5:30-6. I would recommend around 7-7:30. We could not go back to the hotel for a swim after the afternoon parade becuase once you add in travel time, you would be late for dinner.

Just how we all are different. I can't take enough photos!! I pose for a few, but for the most part I just snap away during the trip. The kids walking, on rides, anywhere I can and most of the time its just snapping and not posing.

Biggest mistake is planning all days as long park days. Now we do two all day park days and then a pool/hang out day.

My biggest mistake has been trying to do too much. If I am lucky enough to be able to go again, I want to take more time for the little things, like sampling more of the good food and drink that Disney has to offer!

I agree, I do the same at work, when I come back from lunch I dont even wanna break the screensaver to get back to work! :rotfl:

My biggest mistake on our last 8 day trip was not planning a off day. By the third day my ds told me he didn't want to go anywhere he just wanted to sit and watch cartoons. Next trip I'll plan for a off day and a couple of half days.

On our last 8 day trip our kids never got enough. If we said we were going to swim all day they would look at us like we were nuts. I just can't see being there and not going to one the parks. :)
