My Bawb Moment for Today

So...I am a teacher at a high school and today I chaperoned a physics field trip to a local lake. The kids had to make cardboard boats and they were going to race them.
Well...I was one of the judges, and we had to judge on engineering ability as well as creativity. The kids were given a few moments to explain how they built the boat and make a case for having a structurally sound boat.
We got to one boat and they started off by saying they used Banana Boxes for the construction of their boat. I just started laughing and the kids had no idea why

Duct tape was definitely used!!
The only supplies they were able to use: Cardboard, duct tape and plastic for water proofing...it is a lot of fun every year.

We have a HUGE carboard boat regatta every June here in the Finger Lakes. It's a hoot!! Only coardboard, duct tape and paint ... and lots of wet competitors

Cool...where in the Finger Lakes? I am originally from Auburn, which is on Owasco lake and my wife grew up in Cayuga on Cayuga lake
