My band's (cheapo) music video

I play in a blues/rock band. We have gigged a lot. Sometimes we set up a video camera or one of our S.O.'s takes pictures.

Well, I cobbled it all together in Microsoft MovieMaker and slapped together a music video for one of the songs off our album. I had a lot of fun doing it and just wanted to share it.

I'm the tubby one on the left that stands perfectly still through the whole thing.

The singer and guitarist write everything. For them it's a career pursuit. For me and the other guys... Well, we're all dads with jobs. I'm happy to play for a free coffee.

But the singer and guitarist had a very productive meeting with a management firm in NYC last week. Things are moving forward for them!

My dad plays the bass in his band too! Since he started playing again (about 2 years ago) I've really developed an ear for the bass in a song. Never realized how tough it can be, and there are some songs out there with down right WICKED bass lines.

I'm going to e-mail the youtube link to my dad and the guys. It'll give them something to aspire to!

As your dad knows, the bass player is the coolest member of any band.
That's what I love about bass though, it can be as complicated or as simple as you want to make it. And it really helps define the feel of a song. Next to going to WDW (and, ok, spending time with my wife and daughter), playing bass is my favorite thing to do.

It was a lot of fun. But not for my 5-year-old. The longer I worked on the video, the longer she couldn't play Webkinz!

Aww..who doesn't get their "head-bang" on when they hear the opening of that song??
My dad's goal is to master the bass line for "Crossroads" by Creme. Killer!
