My 'baby' started school - I miss her :(

From what we gather it's lunchtime, she is getting herself worked up as soon as she enters the room for lunch..this is what the teacher as told me.
However she is crying and saying she doesnt want to go at the weekend, then on school day as soon as the uniform appear's it's complete bedlam...She only has one special friend at school at the moment, today she took in her little doggy for show and tell..but still was crying as soon as I was leaving it breaks my heart when she is screaming for me and I know staying is prolonging the melt down..:guilty:
Today we have bought her a lunch box,I thought having school dinners would be easier what with her age but I feel this would help her settle better especially seeing as dinnertime is an issue? I'm going to let her make her own sandwiches with my help and goodies..so she feels more involved.

So fingers crossed this helps, but going from being fine in school to this makes me wonder is it a good thing for 4 year olds starting full time schooling? I guess it depends on the child..will let you know how we get on *fingers crossed*

I definitely agree with this... A woman I work with's granddaughter was only 4 on 31st August and the primary school she's going to started them off 9-3 from the very first day, if they cry they say to "leave them and we'll deal with it" I dunno, maybe i'm too soft but this seems a bit harsh... They're only 4 after all!
So sorry your DD isn't enjoying school  I've heard of lunchtime being an issue for children before and certainly there are a few children in the nursery I work in who are reluctant to eat with the group at first, leave food untouched etc but usually this gets better as they settle in :)
