My Baby Girl Is Turning 13-Time For Another Mom/Daughter WDW Trip!!

All caught up and loving it! I have a bazillion things to comment on. I *tried* to limit myself.

Having a shared van now meant that we would be picked up slightly earlier - 4:30 am to be exact. UGH!

that is a killer. but SO worth it for WDW!

It was over dinner that I noticed she was starting to sound very stuffy. She was getting a cold! Healthy all winter so far and she's getting sick now? She said she felt fine though so I was hoping it would pass. Nope - she just got stuffier as the night went on.

Eep. Not good!

As you can imagine, she didn't fall asleep until after midnight - conveniently after the Jonas Brothers' two skits and one song performance. (I think that was her plan all along!)

She's a smart girl!

Again, I was very underwhelmed by AP here. It seems to have a similiar menu to Roaring Forks at WL; but both Lauren and I felt the food at Roaring Forks was much better.

I TOTALLY agree! I really liked Roaring Forks at WL, they have a bit better options and the food is much better! AP was very disappointing for me as well! What is up with no fries or burgers?! Salads, flatbreads and sandwiches. Booooooring.

Again, I'm not used to staying at a resort like this; I'm so used to the BW and I found this place confusing.

It IS confusing. It took us a while to get our bearings too. It's huge!

Well, good thing I callled; the girl that does the hair braiding had called out sick that day and they wouldn't be able to take Lauren. Thank goodness I didn't waste the trip over there. We re-scheduled for the next afternoon for 3pm. This was throwing off our schedule for that day a little but Lauren really likes the hair-do and I just figured we'd make it work.

Whew! I'm glad you called. That would have been such a pain, esp when Lauren wasn't feeling well.

It was approaching 3pm and Lauren was absolutely miserable. You know when you have a really bad head cold and you just want to lie down? That's all she wanted to do. And now it was starting to drizzle.

Of course. It has to rain too!

Well, when we got there we discovered a few other families just as miserable as us - and waiting just as long for a room. Seriously, that waiting area was full. One of the dads was just LIVID; he had his wife and infant and they had been waiting since noon for a room. Evidently the staff told them they were not prepared for the timing of everyone checking in - whatever the heck that means. He was really making a stink about it. I mean, we were all talking and we know - Disney does say check-in by 4pm; but we all agreed - we never had to wait over 2 hours for a room to be ready.

That is AWFUL. Ugh! A gal on my TR mentioned that she and her family, including a 1 year old, had to wait until 7 PM at SSR once! That is so incredibly uncalled for!

My little girl woke up feeling much better! Still stuffy but well-rested; she was ready to go within minutes...........

It was a no-brainer where we would have dinner tonite. We ordered the usual - two hot dog meals w/fries and plenty of cheese sauce:

We were on the dining plan so also got "dessert" with the meal. The CM noticed Lauren's birthday button and threw in an extra brownie!

I love all your MK shots - it really shows how great of a time you two had! And all the rides with no lines!!!!!! Incredible! I have a scheme going in my head for our December trip should they offer these late EMH!

It's so fun to be in MK that late and it's even funnier (well to me at least) to hear all the CMs wish you a "good morning" as you're walking out!

Woah baby! I can't believe how much you accomplished in one evening!! Are emh always that great crowd wise?
So sorry you didn't enjoy Artists Pallette. I had a flatbread there that was pretty awesome and my daughter fell in love with one of their sammies.
I was surprised by the limited menu though. It seems as if most of the other resorts have a larger choice selection!
Looking forward to Day 2 and beyond!!

i love that they do stuff like this! we had a HILARIOUS CM at the osborne lights - you'll have to see what he did to luke when i get to that part.

I didn't notice Spectro in the pic until I had posted it here - thought that was cool too!

And this is why I love WDW so much - the CMs really add to the fun of everything!

What a fantastic Night at MK! I am a night owl so I can totally imagine having a late night at MK someday with my kids! (they are too little now... I have a while to wait). Glad that Lauren felt better after a nap... I think naps at WDW are extra refreshing!

I'm a night owl too - and thankfully that's what my kids have grown up to be also. We're not morning people at all - would rather stay out late than get up early!

Cammie! Looks like you had a great MK night! I'm glad Lauren was feeling better. I can't believe you rode BTMRR 7 times! You really got to do alot of "walk-ons." I could never get Jim to stay out until 3am! If we're out until 11 it will be amazing!

Seriously Tammie - I started to get a headache from all the rides on BTM - it felt like my brain kept hitting against the side of my head! Anyway, Lauren LOVES that ride, and when there's no line - why not, right?

I love BTMRR too. We rode it four times in a row in the rain once.
I've never eaten at Casey's. I guess I'll have to go get some cheese fries on my next trip.

Oh no - another potential cheese fries addict! And, fyi - a side order of fries IS a snack credit on the DDP!

I've debated Casey's. Nicolas puked hotdogs at Rainforest 2 years ago and still remembers and won't touch them - but like Lauren, he could go head first into some cheese fries!

Lorrie - Thanks for the visual of Nicolas puking hot dogs. Don't think there's anything worse than that! For kids meals at Casey's, I believe they have corn dog nuggets; maybe that would sit better with him?

Hi Sunnie! Glad you're here! I would have to say, no - not all PM EMHs are that un-crowded. We've done them at Epcot and DHS and have found those parks to be very crowded still. I think the thing w/pm emh at MK is though - when it's open until 2 or 3am, it stays crowded up until about midnight; THEN it really clears out!

And oh man - I'm really feeling the itch to do that trip in May. I just may stop fighting the urge to check airfare and see what's out there.

Oh, and I just thought you should know... thanks to your TRs I am absolutely trying Casey's fries with cheese in May!!

Ok - I think I'm going to ask Casey's to give me commission on their cheese fries sales - seems alot of people are going to be ordering them after reading our TR! Just so everyone knows: the cheese sauce is part of the condiment bar - so you can get as much, or as little, cheese as you want!

I am seriously impressed with all you accomplished!!

Those PM extra magic hours makes it all alot easier!

I am enjoying your trip report! I am counting down the days to our Thanksgiving week trip and this is sure helping. You got a lot done! I don't know what it is with Peter Pan either, but I can't leave MK without riding it..

Thanks for reading! The line for Peter Pan ALWAYS seems to stretch down to the bathrooms! I swear, it was still the only ride that had a line at 1am! Thankfully though, it was only a 10 minute wait.

Wow awesome report! Last summer we also found that after about 10:30 was an awesome time to ride rides! So glad you had a great first day (other than Lauren being under the weather).

I do think alot of people head out after the 10pm spectro parade. I was still amazed at how many little kids were still around after midnight - and wide awake!

Great installment, Cammie! You got some great pics of the castle at night! Lauren is just such a sweetie, I'm so glad she was feeling better and got to take advantage of EMH - I cannot believe y'all made it til 2:30 after getting no sleep the night before! You go girl!

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY does the MK like Cammie and Lauren!! You girls absolutely get the MOST out of your time at MK. That PM EMH is the way to go. Thank God Lauren got a little afternoon rest before going! And who is she texting in the middle of the night?

I did not see the dinner at Casey's coming! (sarcasm) You KNOW I am a hotdog junkie, and I have never eaten at Casey's. On our upcoming trip in May, DS and I are eating dinner at Tony's at 6pm...and then we are going to stay for the PM EMH. I am thinking that by 11pm or so, I'll be ready for a late night snack!.....Hmm....maybe that will be my first Casey's experience! Oddly enough, DS does not like hotdogs. (Can you believe that? I'm not even sure he's my child!?!) BUT, he is ALL ABOUT some cheese fries.

I think it's cool that Lauren likes It's a Small World - I don't think I could pay DS to go on it. (He says that song annoys him!)
