My Baby Girl Is Turning 13-Time For Another Mom/Daughter WDW Trip!!

All caught up and loving it! I have a bazillion things to comment on. I *tried* to limit myself. :lmao:

Having a shared van now meant that we would be picked up slightly earlier - 4:30 am to be exact. UGH!

:headache: that is a killer. but SO worth it for WDW!

It was over dinner that I noticed she was starting to sound very stuffy. She was getting a cold! Healthy all winter so far and she's getting sick now? She said she felt fine though so I was hoping it would pass. Nope - she just got stuffier as the night went on.

Eep. Not good!

As you can imagine, she didn't fall asleep until after midnight - conveniently after the Jonas Brothers' two skits and one song performance. (I think that was her plan all along!)

:rotfl: She's a smart girl!

Again, I was very underwhelmed by AP here. It seems to have a similiar menu to Roaring Forks at WL; but both Lauren and I felt the food at Roaring Forks was much better.

I TOTALLY agree! I really liked Roaring Forks at WL, they have a bit better options and the food is much better! AP was very disappointing for me as well! What is up with no fries or burgers?! Salads, flatbreads and sandwiches. Booooooring.

Again, I'm not used to staying at a resort like this; I'm so used to the BW and I found this place confusing.

It IS confusing. It took us a while to get our bearings too. It's huge!

Well, good thing I callled; the girl that does the hair braiding had called out sick that day and they wouldn't be able to take Lauren. Thank goodness I didn't waste the trip over there. We re-scheduled for the next afternoon for 3pm. This was throwing off our schedule for that day a little but Lauren really likes the hair-do and I just figured we'd make it work.

Whew! I'm glad you called. That would have been such a pain, esp when Lauren wasn't feeling well.

It was approaching 3pm and Lauren was absolutely miserable. You know when you have a really bad head cold and you just want to lie down? That's all she wanted to do. And now it was starting to drizzle.

Of course. It has to rain too! :headache:

Well, when we got there we discovered a few other families just as miserable as us - and waiting just as long for a room. Seriously, that waiting area was full. One of the dads was just LIVID; he had his wife and infant and they had been waiting since noon for a room. Evidently the staff told them they were not prepared for the timing of everyone checking in - whatever the heck that means. He was really making a stink about it. I mean, we were all talking and we know - Disney does say check-in by 4pm; but we all agreed - we never had to wait over 2 hours for a room to be ready.

That is AWFUL. Ugh! A gal on my TR mentioned that she and her family, including a 1 year old, had to wait until 7 PM at SSR once! That is so incredibly uncalled for!

My little girl woke up feeling much better! Still stuffy but well-rested; she was ready to go within minutes...........

:yay: Glad to hear she is feeling better!

It was a no-brainer where we would have dinner tonite. We ordered the usual - two hot dog meals w/fries and plenty of cheese sauce:

Yummmmmm!

We were on the dining plan so also got "dessert" with the meal. The CM noticed Lauren's birthday button and threw in an extra brownie!

Freebie #1!

I love all your MK shots - it really shows how great of a time you two had! And all the rides with no lines!!!!!! Incredible! I have a scheme going in my head for our December trip should they offer these late EMH! :rolleyes1

Your "pose of the week" cracked me up. I love it! You are such a fun Mom! I bet all of Lauren's friends think you are the coolest Mom!

Who can guess the languages represented here?
DSC04057.jpg

Let's see...Spanish...is that Arabic on the butterfly? German...and I have zero clue on the rest!

And I want to know too, who was Lauren texting in the middle of the night?! I like her "pic of the day" idea though!

Lauren made herself comfortable:

While I searched for some snacks:

(I'm thinking Minnie isn't lactose intolerant!)

:rotfl2:

It's so fun to be in MK that late and it's even funnier (well to me at least) to hear all the CMs wish you a "good morning" as you're walking out!:goodvibes

That is GREAT! Love it!

Your pictures of the Castle and Main Street are beautiful. It's amazing to see it with so few/NO people! Soooo pretty.

How could I have missed this TR?!

Great so far, and I can't wait to read more!

P.S. Love Lauren's polka-dotted suitcase!

Welcome home!!! (even if it is belated!) I have been at work the past few nights, so I have been reading but unable to post.
Woah baby! I can't believe how much you accomplished in one evening!! Are emh always that great crowd wise?
So sorry you didn't enjoy Artists Pallette. I had a flatbread there that was pretty awesome and my daughter fell in love with one of their sammies.
I was surprised by the limited menu though. It seems as if most of the other resorts have a larger choice selection!
Looking forward to Day 2 and beyond!!
Also I am going to throw my $.02 in the ring to encourage you to come to wdw in May for the big meet!!

Loving the trip report so far!! :thumbsup2 My girls are Jonas Brothers fanatics too, the fruitloops are seeing the new 3D movie 3 times this weekend!! They are nuts...

I just love your TR's, you guys really know how to enjoy everything there is. I'm glad your girl was feeling better. Great start!!!!:goodvibes

Thanks Kathy! I'm so glad the nap did her some good too; didn't want anything interfering with our late night plans!

Great installment! I have a feeling I need to try those fries when I go :lmao:

Try them once and you'll be hooked!;)

Sorry to invade your thread, but my TR is up! Link is in sig!

No need to apologize! You're doing a great job with your TR and I encourage my readers to check it out!:thumbsup2

cool that you got a spectro float in the background! that looks like one of the first floats with the guys with the horns.

i love that they do stuff like this! we had a HILARIOUS CM at the osborne lights - you'll have to see what he did to luke when i get to that part.

I didn't notice Spectro in the pic until I had posted it here - thought that was cool too!

And this is why I love WDW so much - the CMs really add to the fun of everything!

What a fantastic Night at MK! I am a night owl so I can totally imagine having a late night at MK someday with my kids! (they are too little now... I have a while to wait). Glad that Lauren felt better after a nap... I think naps at WDW are extra refreshing!

I'm a night owl too - and thankfully that's what my kids have grown up to be also. We're not morning people at all - would rather stay out late than get up early!

Cammie! Looks like you had a great MK night! I'm glad Lauren was feeling better. I can't believe you rode BTMRR 7 times!:rotfl2: You really got to do alot of "walk-ons." I could never get Jim to stay out until 3am! If we're out until 11 it will be amazing!:goodvibes

Seriously Tammie - I started to get a headache from all the rides on BTM - it felt like my brain kept hitting against the side of my head! Anyway, Lauren LOVES that ride, and when there's no line - why not, right?

I love BTMRR too. We rode it four times in a row in the rain once.
I've never eaten at Casey's. I guess I'll have to go get some cheese fries on my next trip.

Lovin the report so far!

Oh no - another potential cheese fries addict!:rotfl: And, fyi - a side order of fries IS a snack credit on the DDP!:thumbsup2

It looks like it was a fabulous night, can't wait to see more!

We did have a great night - and the weather was perfect; not cold at all!

Thanks for reading!

Great TR so far Cammie!!!

Subscribing to this one! :)

Your daughter looks like she's having a great time!!

Lovely castle photos too!!!

Wow Cammie, looks lyk you and Lauren had a great night at MK!!! Looking forward to hearing more!!! thanks, Deva

Thanks, Deva! We did have a great time! When it's just Lauren and I, we tend to hit the parks a little harder!

Hi cammie,

Subscribing!! I was a visitor in your last TR, but did not want to pass this chance to tell you how much I like your TRs.

I think my fav. park is MK, and your photos are making me nostalgic about it...Sigh...

Kudos to your daughter for being such a sport. Fortunately, they "rebound" very fast from any illness at that age :-)

My best (belated) wishes to your daughter.

Best Regards,

Luis

Welome Luis! I'm glad you're here! I know how you feel about MK; we've only been back a week and I'm already feeling nostalgic too, looking at my pix. It's my happy place!:cloud9:

HI :) I am enjoying your trip report. :goodvibes I can't wait to read more. Thank you for sharing with us.:thumbsup2

Hi! :wave2: Thanks for joining in!

Alrighty. Caught up for now! I love reading about the trip! Lauren looked so much better after the nap - good call mom! A LINE at 1 am? Another good call!

I've debated Casey's. Nicolas puked hotdogs at Rainforest 2 years ago and still remembers and won't touch them - but like Lauren, he could go head first into some cheese fries! :rotfl2:

Lorrie - Thanks for the visual of Nicolas puking hot dogs.:lmao: Don't think there's anything worse than that! For kids meals at Casey's, I believe they have corn dog nuggets; maybe that would sit better with him?

All caught up and loving it! I have a bazillion things to comment on. I *tried* to limit myself. :lmao:

I TOTALLY agree! I really liked Roaring Forks at WL, they have a bit better options and the food is much better! AP was very disappointing for me as well! What is up with no fries or burgers?! Salads, flatbreads and sandwiches. Booooooring.

I also found AP VERY hectic - with the CS AND gift shop all connected. And, didn't I read somewhere that they were expanding Roaring Forks?

I love all your MK shots - it really shows how great of a time you two had! And all the rides with no lines!!!!!! Incredible! I have a scheme going in my head for our December trip should they offer these late EMH! :rolleyes1

Oh I think you should try to fit in a PM EMH. Just don't plan anything for the next morning!

Your "pose of the week" cracked me up. I love it! You are such a fun Mom! I bet all of Lauren's friends think you are the coolest Mom!

Lauren does it much better than me! (and yes, Lauren has told me that her friends had voted me the "coolest"!

Let's see...Spanish...is that Arabic on the butterfly? German...and I have zero clue on the rest!

Ha!Ha! You're the only one who attempted this! I never am sure of what language they are; we just always try to pronounce them!

And I want to know too, who was Lauren texting in the middle of the night?! I like her "pic of the day" idea though!

Well, it was so school vacation week. What I want to know is if her friends' parents knew their kids were up so late texting?;)

Your pictures of the Castle and Main Street are beautiful. It's amazing to see it with so few/NO people! Soooo pretty.

Oh my Brook - thanks for all the comments! That must have been so time consuming! It really is nice to experience MK w/so few people. I hope you get to do it in December.

How could I have missed this TR?!

Great so far, and I can't wait to read more!

P.S. Love Lauren's polka-dotted suitcase!

Hi! Thanks for checking in! Don't worry - you haven't missed much!

Welcome home!!! (even if it is belated!) I have been at work the past few nights, so I have been reading but unable to post.
Woah baby! I can't believe how much you accomplished in one evening!! Are emh always that great crowd wise?

Also I am going to throw my $.02 in the ring to encourage you to come to wdw in May for the big meet!!

Hi Sunnie! Glad you're here! I would have to say, no - not all PM EMHs are that un-crowded. We've done them at Epcot and DHS and have found those parks to be very crowded still. I think the thing w/pm emh at MK is though - when it's open until 2 or 3am, it stays crowded up until about midnight; THEN it really clears out!

And oh man - I'm really feeling the itch to do that trip in May. I just may stop fighting the urge to check airfare and see what's out there.

Loving the trip report so far!! :thumbsup2 My girls are Jonas Brothers fanatics too, the fruitloops are seeing the new 3D movie 3 times this weekend!! They are nuts...

Hi Michelle! Thanks for reading!

Fruitloops!:lmao: (that cracked me up!) We have TWO scheduled movie viewings - but that is over the course of the next week; not all in the same weekend. But I don't mind - I have an inappropriate crush on the middle JoBros. so I guess I'll suffer through two shows!:rolleyes1

Goodness !

I love your trip report!!

Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I hope to have the next installment up by the end of the day!

Sorry - don't know how I missed a this whole page of comments!

Oh, and I just thought you should know... thanks to your TRs I am absolutely trying Casey's fries with cheese in May!!

Ok - I think I'm going to ask Casey's to give me commission on their cheese fries sales - seems alot of people are going to be ordering them after reading our TR! Just so everyone knows: the cheese sauce is part of the condiment bar - so you can get as much, or as little, cheese as you want!

I am seriously impressed with all you accomplished!!

Those PM extra magic hours makes it all alot easier!

I am enjoying your trip report! I am counting down the days to our Thanksgiving week trip and this is sure helping. You got a lot done! I don't know what it is with Peter Pan either, but I can't leave MK without riding it..

Thanks for reading! The line for Peter Pan ALWAYS seems to stretch down to the bathrooms! I swear, it was still the only ride that had a line at 1am! Thankfully though, it was only a 10 minute wait.

Wow awesome report! Last summer we also found that after about 10:30 was an awesome time to ride rides! So glad you had a great first day (other than Lauren being under the weather).

I do think alot of people head out after the 10pm spectro parade. I was still amazed at how many little kids were still around after midnight - and wide awake!

Great installment, Cammie! You got some great pics of the castle at night! Lauren is just such a sweetie, I'm so glad she was feeling better and got to take advantage of EMH - I cannot believe y'all made it til 2:30 after getting no sleep the night before! You go girl!

Oh the sacrifices I make for my child!

Awww what a great night at MK!! I love the picture of you and Lauren in front of the castle with your Mickey antennas, too cute! :cutie:

You can tell Lauren was re-energized by her nap since she made it until almost 3 am! Lucky you guys!

HA!HA! Thanks! Those antennas get packed for every Disney trip!

Jumping on board for this trip report!

Lauren is absolutely gorgeous! (and her name isn't too bad either!:thumbsup2 ) It sounds like you two had an awesome time in MK! 5 times in a row on BTMRR? SWEET!

Can't wait to hear more!

Hi Lauren! Thanks for joining in and for your kind words about Lauren. And not only do you guys share the same first name but -- Elizabeth is my Lauren's middle name also!:cutie:

Cammie- I can't believe I missed your trip report how the heck did I do that???

Love the pictures. Lauren is getting so very grown up how time flies.

Jillian - I know you're so busy getting ready for your own trip - thanks for reading! I hope you guys have a great trip and look forward to reading your TR when you get back!

Ladies & Gentlemen......Readers of all ages.......Hear Ye.....Hear Ye.....

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY does the MK like Cammie and Lauren!! :rotfl2: You girls absolutely get the MOST out of your time at MK. That PM EMH is the way to go. Thank God Lauren got a little afternoon rest before going! And who is she texting in the middle of the night? :sad2:

I did not see the dinner at Casey's coming! (sarcasm) You KNOW I am a hotdog junkie, and I have never eaten at Casey's. On our upcoming trip in May, DS and I are eating dinner at Tony's at 6pm...and then we are going to stay for the PM EMH. I am thinking that by 11pm or so, I'll be ready for a late night snack!.....Hmm....maybe that will be my first Casey's experience! Oddly enough, DS does not like hotdogs. (Can you believe that? I'm not even sure he's my child!?!) BUT, he is ALL ABOUT some cheese fries.

I think it's cool that Lauren likes It's a Small World - I don't think I could pay DS to go on it. (He says that song annoys him!)

Seriously, we are loving your report....as always! Can't wait for more! popcorn::

Alan - Aw, you're too kind. I don't think we desersve that title though - afterall, I couldn't convince Lauren to ride Splash Mntn!:sad2:

And I'm not surprised to hear your DS doesn't like hot dogs. I've seen your TRs - he definitely has a more sophisticated taste in food! And an intersting tidbit about Lauren - she doesn't like pizza! (I, on the otherhand, could survive on nothing but pizza!;) )

:wave2:
I thought I was going to have to read 5 pages of
I'm in, I'm subscribing
and here I find out you've been "ninja posting", lol.

:rotfl: I was on a roll! Glad you found me though!

Hello Cammie! :wave2:

I started this report, but when I realized you had others, well...

I'm one of those people who doesn't like to read chapter books out of order, so I'm going back to the beginning....

See ya later (much later!)

Kathy

P.S. Your older daughter looks so familiar; we may have seen you at the MK during a past November trip....I'm going to be excited if it was you!

Hi Kathy - and welcome! That's so funny if you did see us at MK last nov. We were there on the nights of the 9th & 10th; and during the day on 13th. I've always wondered, as I'm walking around the parks, of how many other DISers I may be surrounded by!

Lovin your trip report! I also am going on a Mom/Daughter trip to Magic Kingdom/Disney Cruise next month. I love to hear Mom/Daughter stories! Can't wait for more!

Thanks so much for reading! I'm thinking one day, when Lauren is a little older, we'll be doing a mother/daughter cruise too! (at least, that's my plan!)

WOW! BTMRR 5 times in a row...how fun! I am in awe that you were able to stay out that late after being up so early!:worship: Glad to hear Lauren woke up feeling better!:thumbsup2 I can't wait until my boys are older and we can do the parks late at night too!:goodvibes

I think my body enters another dimension when I'm at WDW - I don't feel the effects of those busy days or late nights. I'm paying for it now though - I've been exhausted all week!

OMG!!! I can't believe you did ALL THAT on NO SLEEP! You are the Queen of the Kingdom, girlfriend!!:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

PS- I finally started my ST John TR- there's a link in my sig.

PPS- posting during a LOST commercial- OMG!!!!!!!!:scared1:

Hello girlfriend! Glad you're here!

See above comment! It's been a rough week back!

How did I miss the start of this!?!! :scared1:

You two really know how to do the MK PM EMH's!! Good for you!! I am hoping to last until 2AM on my next trip. I really can't wait for it. :yay:

Woo hoo!! Hoping the airline Gods bless you with a super low fare and you get to come in May!! Looking forward to more trippie!!:goodvibes

Yes, Cammie, you MUST come in May!!!! We've already talked about this!!!

What they said!!! Come in May!!:thumbsup2

lol poor thing doesn't stand a chance does she?! I'm all for a December meet also!! That would be great!!

You are a great mom. I bet she will never forget those days where she had her mom all by herself. She looks excited to be there. I love the pics they are great. I was in SSR too you checked in when I checked out. I was there from Feb. 11th - 15th :rotfl2: can't wait to hear more.

Cammie - We're having a pretty big DIS meet in October if that works better for you than May!:lmao: To entice you even further, it's a food & wine fest meet...:drinking1

I'm voting you should go, and I won't be there either time! But seriously - couldn't the girls stay with their dad that weekend and you go if you could find a cheap rate - heck you could room with Kara.

Cammie - We're having a pretty big DIS meet in October if that works better for you than May!:lmao: To entice you even further, it's a food & wine fest meet...:drinking1

No fair!! You have to start bugging her AFTER May! Not before!!! You're going to throw off the whole Cammie goes to Dismeets curve!!! :rotfl:

And why aren't YOU coming in May?????
