My Baby Girl Is Turning 13-Time For Another Mom/Daughter WDW Trip!!

Oh my gosh - Lauren will be so excited! In case you haven't noticed, she digs you - and thinks Ally is adorable. We must make sure to plan to spend longer than a lunch together!

Don't worry, I'll change her mind after more than just a lunch! :rotfl2: Any more than 1/2 hour with me and she'll be rolling her eyes at me just like Ally does!

Great start to your TR! BTW, does Lauren know you posted that pic of her sleeping? Is she drooling? j/k but you know she'd be mortified if you told her that!!! :lmao: See? I love to embarass my child!

Hi! I'm in too:) I found your last trip report, loved it, and couldn't find it again! We were there the same time you were last June. Remember that day it rained really really badly? That was the day we left. Our flight got delayed half an hour :confused3 Right when we took off lightning struck by our plane... as you could tell it just added to the sadness lol.

Can't wait to hear the rest of your report!

(BTW we stayed at Saratoga Springs too :))

Yeah! Another trippie! Can't wait to see Lauren's braids.

Have you ever considered coming down to RI and taking Southwest. It is not a bad drive and its a breeze to park!!!

Hi, I just finished reading your last report and it was amazing :) I love your daughter--she's such a cutie!!(She reminds me of herself when I was her age--i'm only 16--so not too far off.) I went in June of 2008 also with my grandparents and my brother and we stayed at Saratoga Springs. I get what you mean with the whole waiting for a room thing--we checked in at 3:15 and our room wasn't ready until 5--which totally ruined our plans for heading to hollywood studios for dinner. Anyways--we stayed at the carousel...when you're on the bus and you stop at the carousel, you would look directly to your left and you'll see our building--we were on the top floor. Anyways--I know what you mean about Disney withdrawl--it's been 8 months and i'm dying out here in cold weathered michigan...Ahhhh...I cannot wait 5 more months to go again....this time we're staying at AKL....well, hope you had fun on your trip and btw I subscribed--can't wait to hear more...Thanks, Deva (Dayva)

Oh wow - AKL! I hear that's gorgeous! Another DVC I'd like to try some day!

And yeah, our plans got a little screwy because of the later check-in, but things did get better and I think, looking back, it might have been a blessing in disguise.

Thanks for reading!

Great decision on the nap Mom, she looked like she really needed it. Hope your stay at SSR gets better.

She passed out! And yes, things did get better!

I read your last TR after it was completely done and I really enjoyed it. I'm so glad I found this one at the beginning! I hope your DD got to feeling better!

popcorn::

Thank you! Fortunately, she didn't get any worse. Unfortunately I had to spend $8 on a box of sudafed from the gift shop to help her get over the congestion the first few days!

i'm sorry you didn't like SSR. i LOVE it. i love how it's big and all spread out and you can just take a walk and take it all in. but of course we didn't have the problems with check-in that you had - we spent our first day at AK and didn't leave the park until around 4:00 so we didn't have to wait for our room to be ready. at least you got a DTD view. i don't think the trees block your view at all! here was our view:

DSC03844-1.jpg

we had trees too but i still loved the view, especially at night.

we never ate at artist's palette so i can't comment on that from personal experience. if we were hungry and at the resort we'd just walk over to wolfgang puck express - i love that place!!!

i guess it's good that we all don't like the same resorts because it would be pretty hard to get a reservation at one if we did! :rotfl:

I did take some later pix and the view was amazing - especially at night. I just couldn't get enough of the view at night. It's just hard to really like a place like SSR when you love the BW so much. They are two entirely different set-ups. Things did improve after our first day and I really did like the location of our room; had no problems with the buses (unlike at the BW) and it was very quiet. I guess, with kids, I just like the hustle and bustle that the BW offers.

And - I did get a chance to finally try WPE! OMG - soooooo good! I had never been to DTD for lunch before and I appreciated getting over to do that!

Yayyy you started! :yay: :yay:

I'm so sorry your trip got off to a bad start but I'm sure you guys don't let it hold you down for long! Poor Lauren feeling sick at Disney...I think the only time I'd rather be at home than at Disney is if I were sick, poor girl. I hope she started to feel better by the end of the week. Your view doesn't look so bad, I'm sure it was really pretty at night! Can't wait to read more :goodvibes

p.s. can I tell you how jealous I am that you're going back in 9 months?!

We hit a few bumps in the beginning but things bounced back very well! Thanks for following me over here!

Do you know Lauren saw the pic of her sleeping and thought she looked cute and said it was ok for me to post!

OMG - lightning struck your plane? YIKES! That would have been my excuse to turn right around and go back to Disney! And yes, I remember that day - pouring rain and thunder and lightning. I had never been in Disney for a thunderstorm before!

Yeah! Another trippie! Can't wait to see Lauren's braids.

Have you ever considered coming down to RI and taking Southwest. It is not a bad drive and its a breeze to park!!!

Braids should be in the next installment or two.

As for SW - we did fly out of Providence for our trip last June. I love that airport so much more than Logan but have to admit, I had alot of anxiety over SW's no seat assignments. I'm so anal and that really bothered me!

I loved your past reports so I'm back again to read along!! I'm so sorry she had to start the trip off sick!! Poor thing!!! I hope the nap helped and things get better!!

Terrific first installment!! Can't wait for more!! :thumbsup2

Hope you girls got plenty of rest before hitting MK for EMH!

I'm here Cammie! Great first chapter. Poor Lauren getting a cold. I hope she felt better after her nap.

So, the big question..... did you try the Grand Marnier slush in France and was it wonderful? I should just wait for your TR, but I'm leaving for the World in 2 days (:cool1: ) and don't want to have to wait a whole week to know the answer to this all important question!!:lmao:

Looks like it was a good nap- think I'll go take an 8 hour one myself! :faint: She really does look so cozy in the blankees!!

Now I KNOW the trip is all :cheer2: from here on- right?:goodvibes

I followed your link over from Alan's PTR. I have looked over some of your other reports after they were finished so I am excited to be in on this one from the ground floor. I am glad you got to do another mom and daughter birthday trip this year and can not wait to read more!

HI Cammie! I'm finally here! I started over here earlier, then got busy PMing you and forgot to come over.

I'm sorry you weren't impressed with SSR. That's my home resort. I don't have anything to compare, except for the bad customer service at AKL. At SSR our rooms were ready when we got in at 4pm, and we got just what we wanted - I'm always pleasantly surprised when the room is ready on time, because I've read so many TRs where its not. At DLR our room wasn't ready until 5:30! We had checked in at 2pm.

As for the food, I think its pretty generic at all the CS. I've seen the same items on alot of the menus. I was also underwhelmed at Artist's Palette, but I LOVE the flatbread pizza!

Funny, you are excited about the hustle and bustle of BW, and that's why I wasn't sure I would want to be there - I like to get away from it all - and SSR is really away!:thumbsup2 I do want to stay at BW sometime, for the closeness to Epcot and DHS!

I hope Lauren gets better and things look up for you! Can't wait to see your late night MK!

Hi! :wave2: Signing on and looking forward to more. You're off to a great start!! Sorry Lauren wasn't feeling well. Hopefully the nap did its job and chased that cold away! popcorn::

Welcome and thanks for reading! And, yes, as you'll see - the nap did wonders!

Terrific first installment!! Can't wait for more!! :thumbsup2

Hi Alan! Glad you're here! And, well, ONE of us got some rest before those EMHs!

I'm here Cammie! Great first chapter. Poor Lauren getting a cold. I hope she felt better after her nap.

TWO DAYS? You're so lucky! I know I just got back but I miss it so much already! And, yes, I did try the Grand Marnier slushie; and I LOVED it! Now I have a dilemna - the Citron Slushie was always my first drink of choice when I get to Epcot, now I don't know what to choose! They're both very different tasting: Citron slushie is very citrus-y; gr.marnier slushie is more creamier. Guess I'll just have to make sure I get both each time now!:thumbsup2

Have a great trip!

Looks like it was a good nap- think I'll go take an 8 hour one myself! :faint: She really does look so cozy in the blankees!!

Oh yes - you KNOW the trip just got better. Really, SSR was fine; just not my cup of tea. And with the problems with check-in, we just did not get off to a great start. But things did get better and I was liking it a little more by day 2.

Hi Cammie! :wave2: Great 1st installment! I can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip. :goodvibes

Yeah - glad you found me!

Hey Tammie! I guess technically, SSR did check us in on time - it was by 4pm afterall. I was just hoping to get the room sooner because we had gotten there at 12:30. I am glad they were able to accommodate my request of a room with a great view. And I did appreciate the resort's proximity to DTD - as you'll see later in the report.

Hi! :wave2: Signing on and looking forward to more. You're off to a great start!! Sorry Lauren wasn't feeling well. Hopefully the nap did its job and chased that cold away! popcorn::

Hi! Glad you're on board for another one of my TRs! And, you'll see - the nap did do wonders for her!

i'm here too! Love the pictures. It's the closest I'll get to WDW for another 2 years but can't wait to hear more. Do you think the late check in had anything to do with the budget cuts they made last week? I read that they were going to change things up immediately. I'm hoping that this isn't a sign of what/how they've changed things to save money :(

Anyway can't wait to read more.

Woohoo! Trip Report!

Aww. I'm sorry that Lauren felt bad. That must've stank!
3 pages in. I'm sort of late.

Can't wait for more! :)

Cammie-our trip isn't until next summer....dates depend on what school Cassidy gets accepted at. So we'll have a very loooooooong time to plan the best trip possible. :goodvibes :lmao:

Hi Cammie! I was a lurker on your previous reports:sad2: I didn't want to miss this one and I am so happy to get in from the beginning!:cool1: I think you are an AMAZING mom and your daughters are precious! Lauren is a great sister to Amanda and I think Amanda's perserverance is incredible! I think it is wonderful that you and Lauren get to spend that alone time together!! Also, we are trying the BWV for the first time over the 4th of July and we CANNOT wait!! Looking forward to more!!:goodvibes

Oh yeah! I LOVE that you love the Giants too in the middle of all those Patriots fans!:thumbsup2

Diane

Hey Laura! Thanks for coming over! I'm not so sure the late check-in had anything to do w/budget cuts; I did see plenty of other people getting their rooms. Most of us that were left waiting the longest had requested Congress Park - so maybe they were short-staffed w/housekeeping services over there?:confused3

I'm sure the year will fly by!  Anyway, I look forward to being in on the planning!

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom, Diane! And for all your kind words!:goodvibes I hope you love the BWV as much as we do - it's our favortie resort on property.

And, as for my Giants - I bleed Giant Blue (as my dad would say) and grew up a fan (heck, I was born and raised 20 minutes south of Giants stadium). I would root for them no matter where I lived!:thumbsup2

Hi there!

I'm joining in early this time. I love reading your PTR, it looks like you have the most wonderful time on your trips:goodvibes . I'm sorry Lauren wasn't feeling well, it's awful to be sick on vacation.

Can't wait to read more!:yay:
