I am so excited! My husband is so great! I am finishing my first year back to teaching (after being out for nine years with my children) and it has been wonderful, stressful, and required lots of adjustment from all of us! He has been very supportive and helpful all year, but this takes the cake! Yesterday he booked a trip for the two of us to DW for Flower & Garden. We've both been dying to go to that (never been) and he said I deserve a break between school ending and a summer home with the kids (including a 10-day Disney trip in July) - I am SO excited!

Most of my work friends roll their eyes and say, "Again?" (You all know what I'm talking about!) :confused3 There's really no other place I'd rather be - we are so excited to be there with no kids! I had been trying to figure out how to afford a couple of nights out during the July trip (and we still will), but it's expensive! :scared: And we pay babysitters pretty generously here at home!

Anyway, just had to brag on DH and share my excitement - you DISers get it and will be happy for me. We are not even telling certain family members - they think we are rolling in money because we go so often :rotfl2: This trip will cost us 36 points for 3 nights. DH always hunts down a good deal on airfare (and no red-eyes), and we have APs (upgraded from 7-day passes last October, so an unbelievable deal). He got the DDP and said I can make whatever ADRs I want - this trip is about me!:lovestruc I told you he's great!

Any recommendations for a couples-only trip? We'll def. do PI, and we only have 3 days so I don't want to do any 2TS dinners (we may do those OOP in July, since we aren't using DDP then).

Thanks for letting me share!!:goodvibes

That is so nice! Congrats on going back to work after all those years. You definitely deserve a break.

The last time we were in Disney as a couple only was on our honeymoon 11 years ago. Check out Raglan Road. We go as a family but it seems like a great place to go and hang out especially because they have entertainment later in the evening.

Have a great time!

DH & I did an adults-only trip for F&W in October and it was wonderful....only 3 days like you, but it was a perfect get-away. For TS we had Puck's Cafe in DTD (always fab) Alfredo's in Italy (since we were there for F&W) and we alost ate in Japan (we are huge sushi fans). We basically lived at Epcot and since there are so many great restaurants there...we were like kids at...well....Disney! :rotfl2: :lmao: We had such a hard time deciding which restaurants to try...we wanted to go to places we wouldn't go when the kids were with us (though we would take them to Alfredo's).

Have fun!

As a retired teacher I know how stressful teaching can be, especially that first year back. I can't think of a sweeter thing for your DH to do than that trip!
We like Wolfgang Puck at DTD West Side. It isn't a "romantic" setting, more funky, but great food. We also like Raglan Road. Le Cellier at Epcot is great but very popular so ADRs might be tough to get at this point.
Have a great trip! Congratulations on almost having survived until the end of the school year!

How wonderful! F & G, like the F & W, is really geared more for adults, so it'll be perfect for leisurely strolling and enjoying the beautiful displays (truly a time to "stop and smell the roses" :teeth: :flower3: ).
As far as eating, a lovely brunch at a TS in a resort, or a late lunch at one of the Epcot 1-TS restaurants can be very romantic, too. (And the best part about it is that it's much easier to get ADR's for those mealtimes!:thumbsup2 )
Whatever you decide, you'll have a wonderful time (as will we, since in about 2 weeks, we're going for a long weekend, too!:goodvibes )

You didnt state where you were staying - but if by chance you're staying at one of the Epcot resorts (ideal for F&G) I'd suggest an evening at Jelly Rolls (at the end of the boardwalk before the bridge to dolphin/sawn). It is a fun club with duelling pianists and sing alongs. They play all the popular favorite piano songs and take requests (donations are the norm) as well. The place is always up beat and cheery and has a great vibe.

congrats. that is a nice gift what ever the reason. the friends who say "your going there again" :confused3 instead of "wow, thats fantastic", :wizard: just don't know wdw. if they did they would be the first to say "i want to go too".:woohoo:

Thanks for all the great ideas! We are really looking forward to our adult get-away, and the F&G will be perfect. We've been during F&W, but with the kids. We're staying at SSR, so DTD will be close - I'd also like to check out Jellyrolls over at BW. Is there a cover charge there?

Thanks again, everyone - it's been a fun, but exhausting year, and a kid-break will do me good before summer really starts! There are days when I just come home, flop on the couch and call for pizza delivery! But other than working at Disney, I think this is the best job ever! (DH and I already have plans to work at Disney when we retire!)
