My Aulani thought for Oct 2013

Weather was amazing.

Adult pool is quiet

Ulu cafe is handy

Giovanni's (as recommended on this board) is highly overrated.

Starlit hui is awesome

They don't allow saved seats. One hour max and this was enforced at pools.

Need more than 4 days.

Loved the Hawaiian culture in everything.

The aunty scavenger hunt is FUN!!!

And the Pizza Corner across the street is great! They even deliver to Aulani.

The food at ulu was good. We had breakfast there each morning. Never had lunch there. Had that at Mama's shack. Had dinner there tonight an it was a variety of Hawaiian type meals (Kali's pork sandwiches and pizza, etc)
No burgers ( my son was shocked).

We arrived on Tuesday afternoon, that evening in our room we received a note saying that there would be filming in the new area (grotto, keiki cove). So those areas were closed Wed/Thursday. On Friday we got to enjoy the Grotto pool - loved that!!! The infinity edge is awesome. Also - if you put your head underwater there are dolphin, submarine and whale sounds. It was fun to listen to. The adult pool was like a sanctuary - so quiet and peaceful!

In the past my kids have loved the kids clubs but they just wanted to play in the water the WHOLE TIME. We did snorkel in the lagoon, but we didn't see any fish (not like Castaway Cay) glad we did the Rainbow Reef and did the snorkels through that.

CANNOT WAIT for our Aulani trip in May celebrating our youngest sons high school graduation!!! The Starlit Hui sounds fun!!!!!. Missed a vacation this year so we are long Overdue!!!!!

Snorkeling in the lagoon isn't great but we did see some things when we were there in August. You have to go all the way out - if you are near the rocks in the center of the lagoon you will see some fish. Visibility isn't great, though, because of everyone in the lagoon stirring up the sand.
