II and RCI simply don't let you know how they restrict things. To them it's an industry secret.
DVC members do have less access through RCI though. They can't trade to other DVC resorts through RCI and there are significant restrictions on both how and what they can trade for through RCI. In addition, DVC members lose out on many other valuable options of an exchange company membership just like they did in II. Plus as I pointed out above, non DVC RCI members have access to DVC weeks that were, at most, available at the 11 month window to owners at those resorts but not to other DVC members. I personally have no problem with this but it is reality.
And there is quite a following of people that truly prefer to stay at none DVC resorts in Orlando even if they have the option of DVC resorts.
