We always go to my inlaws for Thanksgiving. They go all out!
Cooking since dawn!

We do it EASY!

A few years ago my sister and I made the dinner at my mom's and my DH couldn't stop saying how great it was!

Here is our repetoire!

1.Stuffing- make the box stuff and add any favorite items. Stuff the bird.

2. Cook the turkey in a Reynold's cooking bag- no basting. Always comes out perfect.

3. Green Bean Casserole (with the french's onions)-use frozen or canned beans

4. Sweet potato casserole- canned sweetpotatoes and marshmallows-yum

5. canned cranberry sauce

6. Grand's biscuits

7. Mrs Smith's pies- I just found out that you can bake these the night before and just reheat!

8. Drinks- wine, cranapple juice, coffee for dessert.

This meal never fails!!!!!

Sounds pretty yummy. Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving :)

I know some people who need to take lessons from you guys. LOL

We had:

turkey
mashed potatoes
yams
stuffing
meat stuffing
corn
peas
squash
turnips
2 kinds of cranberry sauce
green beans
2 kinds of pickles
corn bread
2 kinds of gravy
carrots
salad
.
.
.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Then drinks & dessert..............

And dirty dishes that wouldn't quit.

I'm TIRED ----- and I didn't even cook! LOL

I had a very easy dinner also. We went to my in-laws for dinner. They are retired and live in a campground so we went to a dinner in their Common area. The camp supplied the turkey and everyone at the tables of 24 people brought all the sides for their table. It was very easy and only a couple of dishes to clean up afterwards. We had a 4pm reservation and had enough time for a couple games of shuffleboard afterwards ( before it got dark)

Had I cooked my meal would of been very much like yours susy, except you left out the jar gravy :D

We had a very easy dinner for Thanksgiving as well.

It was just DH, his parents and me. DH isn't a huge Turkey fan so he grilled steaks! I cooked baked potatoes and made a salad and voila....Thanksgiving dinner!
I was pretty upset at first that we weren't having the traditional dinner, but beleive me, it was nice not having to be cooking all night Wednesday and up early Thursday stressing over the bird!!!

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

I think that is how I'll do it next year. This year I went all out and I am totally exhausted. I made a 22 lb. turkey, home made stuffing (some in the bird and some not for my vegetarian DS), mashed potatos, mashed sweet potatos(I used the can for them), candied sweet potatos, homemade cranberry relish, canned cranberry sauce, cheesy winter veggies, frozen corn, frozen green beans, bread made in my bread maker, and biscuits. I also made 2 pies but used the frozen crust. We had 12 people for dinner at 5:30. I spent the morning at the football game. My MIL was supposed to bring a pie (from the store) but brought a box on candy. My SIL brought a bottle of wine.

The only thing I would add to this list is store bought pies from Sam's Club. They're great and cheap!
