My DH and I are leaving 5/5 and buying military tickets, some of which my sister, niece and nephew are going to use.DH leaving 5/10, sister is coming that night. We were going to have 2 days before neice and her 2 kids arrived, then I was leaving 5/13. Now niece is arriving 5/11. I love her and great-nephews (5 and 1) dearly but we're all going to be in one room and their touring style is loose to say the least. Mine is NOT!

The only reason I stayed was to give sis the tickets(no time to mail them and they must be activated) and spend 2 days alone with her. Now 2 days in a room with 3 adults and 2 small children? I'm also a freelance writer and need to write a bit in the morning and evening to pay the bills. Not in a studio!

To add more to the decision process, I watch my DGD 2 days a week and since I'll be gone the whole week the whole week falls on the other grandparents, which is a lot for them. Ugh, ugh and more ugh! I can kind of dump them and go off on my own for 2 days (because waiting for them to get out the door will drive me crazy) or I can grin and bear it with whatever they do. Two days alone would be fine--but I'll have just had 5 days with DH and one day alone. (Tuesday) Someone please give me words of encouragement!

Edited to add: My sister has never had just an adult trip-I was really looking forward to showing her the fun things you can do without grandchildren lol. (I love my grandchildren but I also enjoy trips without them!)

so how did your trip turn out:confused3. I hope you all still had a wonderful time in spite of:goodvibes

It worked out ok! My niece came in several hours early(they fly standby) so sis and I had just a few hours but we hit AK and DHS before niece got there. Then we took the five-year-old to MK that night--just sis and I. That was fun! Nephew #2 didn't sleep well that night--he was up several time and up for good at 5 am:scared1: I was glad I was going home lol. Sis also took an Ambien that night and had a bad reaction--we almost took her to the hospital so I was glad I was there (I'm an RN) It was quite an eventful day-my niece also left her car seat on the ME bus and then ME lost her luggage! (They found it around 7 hours after she got there--in DH's and my old room that we had left the day before!) It was like a comedy of errors all the way around, but we'll be laughing about it all years from now.

Obviously, I didn't get any writing done that day. Oh well. What will it matter in 100 years, right? Love your signature, BTW--I need to remember it more!
