What time does wishes start the night you will be at Ohana? Looks like you picked a lot of good places to dine :) I have never tried San Angel Inn, but the atmosphere in there is incredible!

Looks great!!

We have ADR's for a lot of those for our trip in June as well (San Angel Inn dinner, CP lunch, Garden Grill lunch, & CRT lunch - yep, I'm a sucker too! ;) )

And I've been wanting to try 1900 Park Fare & Le Cellier - maybe next year I'll finally be able to work them into our plans! :teeth:

Our ADR at San Angel Inn is for 6:30 pm, & Illuminations is at 9:00 pm. Hopefully, we'll be done by 8:00 pm - w/ enough time to find a good viewing spot. The seating outside is for the Mexican counter-service restaurant (Cantina De San Angel), I think.

Regarding your ADR time at 'Ohana, I think 8:45 pm is plenty late enough. Wishes is at 10:00 pm, right? If it's anything like it was late May, you'll probably have to wait a while before you're seated anyway - especially if you ask for a table near a window where you can see the castle. Last May, our ADR was around 6:30 pm (can't remember the exact time), and I asked if we could have a table w/ a "view" - we waited about an hour & half before we were seated. (And everyone else was waiting too - no one was getting seated right away, & everyone w/o an ADR was being sent to the Kona Cafe.) If you are done before Wishes begins, you can always go out to the Poly beach to see the fireworks.

You can go to the WDW site and press calendar for Magic Kingdom in August. We will be there in August. I checked for our dates and Wishes will be at 10 or at 11pm. Just key on the night you want to check.

AT 10PM but last time we were at Ohana we waited about 30 mins to be seated and the CM this time was "shocked" that alot of the late ADR's were gone already...hmmmm she must not DIS because I was not shocked at all...

I was shocked that they had a lot of CRT's still available!!!

ahhh yes last year we had a coveted "castle view" table!! It was awesome but we were not there for Wishes that night...we were guests at the Poly so we swam and watched Wishes that night...so this time I am hoping to get a window seat for Wishes!!

Looks good! You have some great ones (Garden Grill is a fam fave!)

Say, when are you there in August? We plan to be mousin' it from the 12th-20th of August ourselves. (We're at RPR - US/IOA before that - it looks like our paths cross, though!) Our family had a VERY hard time deciding on dining choices this trip, for some reason! Normally we have a major crew of people going - this time it's just us 5 chickens, so it OUGHT to be easier, huh? :confused3 NOT!

We finally narrowed it down to Le Cellier, CP (b'fast), C Mickey's (dinner), Ohana, SciFi, and Teppanyaki for our sit-down ADRs. ALso have a Princess Story book bfast for DD and myself one day. Also planning to do ESPN (I have two boys - 3 counting DH - who NEVER miss this place, sigh....) We need another ADR for a dinner one night but jury is still out - WCC, Beaches, 1900 PF, or let Mom and Dad do Shula's again while kids go to Camp Dolphin? Decisions, decisions! We're doing the DDP, so we have to factor in our CS decisions to be made, also. AUGHH!

I am curious about San ANgel - give us a report afterwards! Surprised about CRT - MAybe I'll toss that idea at DD... she and I get a whole day to ourselves while the boys do Disney Quest. She did CRT b'fast last trip, so we thought we would do princess in Norway instead. Didn't even think to ask about CRT this go-round.... I'm a bad mommy! Her favroite princess is actually Aurora, so she would be fine at either place so long as Aurora shows up!

hi August goer!!! :wave2: august 11 thru 20 for us!!

CRT lunch last year was good, my server was bad but the food was good and the kids LOVED it!!! I got the domos pie and the kids got the pasta and chicken strips and one other...I forgot!! DH got the turkey on foccacia...the desert was the best part of the meal and the characters were fun but we are not the type that expects a TON of interaction...say hi, get the pic, move on...it was kinda craZY and loud but inside is sooo cool!! The hostess in the bottom was a very nice lady and Godmother was sweet too!! We are going to try bkfst this time and try to roll out of bed early...admittedly we are not park openers...we are park closers!!! :rotfl2: but this yr I am going to try to be earlier...I'd say try the lunch once!!! I thought we could watch Illuminations from SanAngel but guess I was mistaken so I think I am going to have to rethink this strategy!! We shall see

I am very excited about this extended trip...we got just five nights last trip!!!

MomofMNM and gopherit, We are going in August and staying at the Polynesian. We have many of the same ADR's as well. LeCellier for dinner, Ohana's for dinner, Crystal Palace breakfast, Kona breakfast, and I am considering 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. When I called to make additional ADR's yesterday, there was only one ADR left for our party size (Party of six, me, DH, DS 10, DS 4, DS 1, and my mom) at LeCellier. We are so excited to go! :cheer2:

I have to admit I am jealous!!! You get to stay at the Poly for that long!!! :cloud9: WOW!!!

The only way we can afford that is a 5 or 6 night stay and this summer I want 10 so we are at SOG (can't beat the price!!!). The Poly is awesome and if I win the lotto or if something huge happens to me by Aug...like JACKPOT huge...then we can be there too!!! Trying to just be happy and satified with SOG...

BTW guess my sig should say mom to three disney girls HUH??

Made all the ADR's yesterday...was a lot of fun doing it too!! Now it is wait for trip time...it always goes faster than you think!!
:sunny:

We're doing the Beach Club from August 20-24 with dining, then the three night Wonder. We still need an ADR for our first night, it needs to be a non-park restaurant, any ideas? We have Alfredo's, 50's Prime Time and Le Cellier booked for the second through fourth nights.

Well, called last night - and yup,. no sweat, got an 8:00 for Cindy's for bfast for me and DD's "day on the town"! Now, one thing that bugs me - it would be 2 TS if I applied our dining plan to it - but I intend to just pay cashola for it. Can't see getting two TS out of a b'fast. Besides, the boys aren't going to be with us, so we will save our dining plan meals for when we're together.

It was funny, when I asked DD where she would rather dine, she agreed that the Castle was the "BEST". I didn't have an issue with the b'fast in EPCOT - it's quite nice, actually, and Aurora goes there too - it's just that I am betting most of our day together will be spent at MK, so it seemed a bit wasteful to do EPCOT, then have to hoof it over to MK for the day. ANd most of EPCOT (the countries) aren't open until 11 am. My dd is a HUGE Splash Mountain nut and has avowed she WILL ride in the front if we have to ride all day to make it happen, LOL! (We rode 5 times and coudln't seem to make that wish come true last trip. THis time, she ain't takin no for an answer!) We usually use our day together to also do the "girly" stuff that makes her brothers gag, LOL - like visit Ariel, shop, etc.

One thing to make your early rise worthwhile, MOMOFMNM: when you arrive for a morning b'fast before the parks open, you get GREAT shots in front of the castle! (See below of DD - this was cropped, but if I can locate it in my files, I'll show you the full shot - nobody's around, just her and her castle, LOL!) Plus, your dds can feel free to dress up, then change clothes afterwards and enjoy the day. A real plus! I let my dd pick what dress to wear - I was surprised she opted NOT for her Disney costumery dresses but instead her linen blue sundress (as seen in photo), with of course a crown and purse. I have to admit, it sure made things easier - that dress folded up MUCH more nicely into my shoulder pack than a tulle-flouncy princess dress would have, and she was a lot more comfy on the ride over and during the meal! Maybe we can find a special dress in pink this year so she can be more "aurora"-like! (although I guess Aurora technically is pink or blue, right?) I bought her a pin I plan to slip by her plate at the breakfast - thought she would like that - of Aurora. THe pin has a rotating center so you can make her pink or blue. DD used to go through the house as a toddler, brandishing her wand at things saying, "Make it Pink! Make it Blue!" Too cute.

Hey there. Your ADRs look good to me. But... San Angel Inn does NOT have outdoor seating. There is seating outside but it's for the CS place. However, SAI is a nice place to eat. My whole gang likes the ambiance. Our food has always been good and... well... if you drink enough margaritas ~ who cares anyway?!!! You should try it. However... if you're looking for a sit-down to watch Illuminations the choice would be Rose and Crown in the UK. The food is not exciting but has always been fine. Oh... I take that back. There is a mushroom appetizer there that ROCKS!!!! So yum. You can ask for a patio seat and hope for the best. There is a little area they let everyone go out to so they can watch, though. It's a very good view, too.

Alfredo's is fantastic. We ate there twice last time and are doing it, again, in May... twice!

Our family are not exactly Park Openers, either, however... 'Ohanas is one you must do early enough so the kids are not too tired. WE LOVE IT!!!! It's always our first night/welcome to WDW dinner. But last trip we were too tired from our early flight and my middle guy slept through the whole experience. Yours look about the same ages as mine... do you get them to take a nap in the afternoon? Tell me... oh tell me! 'Cause I would LOVE to have them see Wishes from 'Ohanas but still be jazzed enough to "play" too.

50's Prime Time is fun. Not to be missed. You could ask for Cousin Carlos... he was great fun.

P.S. Hi Gopherit!!!! LoveLoveLove your fantastic trip reports!!!!

And MOMOFMNM: Are you planning a trip report yourself?!

The Gardenview Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian... is an amazing thing for Mothers/Daughter(s)!!!! Great and filling for a later lunch or early dinner. Plus... so NICE!!!!! My DD loved it and insisted on another ADR for May for a late lunch. The boys will stay in the MK and do guy things while we will have a grand ol' girly time over tea.

:worship: Mel Happyhaunt has graced my thread with her presence!! WOW!! Does this mean I am part of the gang now?? :teeth:

As far as a trip report...I have one going and I will bump it up...it seems that I stopped writing it in October 2005!!! :lmao: So I will bump it and work on it this week...what else do I have to do? It is spring break, in Iowa, with about 5 inches of snow (yeah we got away easy I guess) and our only plans are to go north this weekend!!!   Minnesota...geesh... we might as well come and visit you Mel...too bad I do not have a passport as of now...(btw do you need a passport to visit Canada?? We live so close, seems like Iowans should be exempt from that rule, eh??? :) ) The only problem I see with the tea idea is I have THREE girls and no boys...so not only is that $$$ but then what would my lonely, 'ol dh do while we are busy?? I guess he could scope out the ladies at WDW... :teeth: He already made it clear that the only princess he was interested in seeing again was Jasmine "because at least she shows some skin." :sad2: You do not even want to know what he asked when I told him lunch in the castle was near 40 dollars per person...(something to do with nude princesses...that's all I am gonna say about that!!)

Gopherit I love your dd photos and you are right about the castle pics w no one in them...that's worth the 150 bucks for scrambled eggs (yeah I know...your paying for the scenery...ambiance...what have you...) cute pics! I tried to post my dd's dress up pics at the castle but it seems I forgot how to do so in a post so I need to go re-educate myself...then I will come back and share with you!

ok on to figuring out my pics to post, as well as bumping that trip report...

looks like the laundry will have to stay in those baskets yet another day...

Rock on... bump that Lil' 'ol TR for me!!!!

What is "laundry"? Heh, heh.

Actually, "The Club" is really just a group for Dismoms who never do "laundry" 'cause they're too busy Dising. Whatever "laundry" is?

You don't need a passport for CANADA!!!! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ahhhhh ha! Are you kidding? WE LET EVERYONE IN!!!! I mean... I think Castro has a vacation home in Niagara-on-the-Lake. I think.

I'd love to see your pictures, too. Your family is beautiful. But, you know, the Tea at GF is not as expensive as you'd think. It's $17 or less for an adult (but that $17 includes the whole shebang and... it's A LOT of food for lunch. A lot!) and the girls would be $8.50 each, only. The marble table is beautifully set with Royal Albert china and silver. They'd each get their own tiny teapot of Magical Dark Tea (chocolate milk) and it's just a blast. Beth slapped my hand twice for not being "dainty" enough in manner. It was one of her best memories from our last trip. Your DH would HATE it, though. If he's anything like mine. But if you went to the MK in the morning and booked it for a late lunch around 2:30pm... then he could just go back to SOG and lie by the pool with a beer and check out bikinis. Which is what MY DH likes to do. Just a suggestion, though. Ok. I'll admit... I think it's a fabulous thing to do. I'm tryin' to sell it to you. Later, Mel.

P.S. check out the menu for the Gardenview Tea on Allearsnet.

I also think you should stay at the Polynesian, again. Ka-ching, ka-ching!!!!

And get a babysitter and take your DH to Victoria and Albert's.

Heh, heh, heh, heh.

Just kidding. Those are just dreams... of mine. Which will never come true. I think.

We'll never, ever be able to stay at the POLY. Now that we joined the DVC. The best we could do, before that, is the All Stars. But it doesn't matter where you stay... as long as you're ON PROPERTY. I'm enjoying your trip report. A lot. Cheers, Mel.

P.S. DO THE TEA!!!! I would NEVER do the $200.00 one, either. This regular one is even better. I think. That's what I tell myself anyway.

The other thing that is really fun is Teppanyaki in the Japan Pavillion at Epcot. We always do that one too. On an Epcot day. The food is good and watching the chef grill it on "the table" is cool for the kids. Keeps them happy and occupied and DH and I get to chat. We do lunch 'cause it's less expensive for the same food. Plus the food is healthy, tasty and not fattening. It's all good.
