My 7 Month Vacation as a WDW Intern: MINI UPDATE 12/10

Parasailing sounds great!

Have a wonderful visit with your Mom! :goodvibes
You can enter the MK with a party ticket at 4pm.

We are attending MNSSHP at the end of Sept and cannot wait!

Sounds like you have a great time planned with your mom. I know you both are going to have a great time.Mom and daoughter bonding time is fun and I"m happy that ya'll get to do it.Can't wait to read about it and see some pictures of two very happy ladies.

We enjoy Ohana for breakfast. Standard, tasty food, but Stitch is totally fun!

MNSSHP: you'll be fine dressed in your "sporty princess". When we went, the CPers who were along (my DD and pals) just wore their BBB-done-by-DD do's and dressy clothes, but were complaining by the end that they were hot and hated having to be careful getting out of ride cars...:scared1: Your plan sounds good!

Captain's Grille...I just had lunch there and it was good. Dinner, we did kids' stuff as takeout, but the service was fine and the restaurant is nice enough.

Big River...not a fan. It felt very close and crowded and the food was just "eh". We did the chips/salsa app and it was Tostitos. Blech.

No, you can't hear the music for Illuminations from the Boardwalk and you can't see very much of the show from there, either. I'd be tempted to go on the the International Gateway and see what you could get from there.

have a great time with your Mom! I just got back from visiting my 2 CM DDs and I miss them!

Megan,

How exciting that your Mom is coming to visit!! It's great that you planned some Spa time :) I've done that twice with my DDs at the spa over at SSR and it's a wonderful treat!

Here's a great review with pics of Ohana breakfast

They are both by Nicki and she does a fantastic job with her restaurant reviews!

Enjoy your time with your Mom :goodvibes I loved all my trips to visit my DD when she was doing her CP!

Megan,

Your plans sound wonderful. I really think you will enjoy Ohana's for breakfast. We have gone twice and loved it both times. The juice is great as well as the bread they serve. Enjoy it.

I have never attended the MNSSHP but my sister and my mother have and they say it is fantastic. The fireworks are parade are outstanding. I am sure you will have a great time.

Thank you for the update. It sounds like you are going to have a fantastic time with your mother. ENJOY!!!! :goodvibes

That sounds like so much fun!

Is it crazy that I want my daughter to be a CM so she can treat me like that? Is it crazy when you know my DD is only 5, LOL?

Can't wait to hear alll about it & see the pics!

You must be so excited that your mom is coming! I hope you guys have a wonderful time.

MNSSHP is so much fun! Like someone else said you can get in at 4:00 to get your wristband. It's actually a really good time to get a lot of things done before the party starts (atleast we were able to at the P&PP in May)!

Thanks for all of the messages. I'm now heading off to work and then going to check into POP after work and picking mom up at 8:30. I think we're getting lucky because Hanna has decided not to hit FL so we should have a rain free weekend!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone, I can't wait to post/pics when I'm back!!!

Megan,

Hope you had a great weekend with your Mom! :goodvibes I'm looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing the pics, especially of the party!

Megan, I hope you had an awesome time with your mom and that work hasn't been too crazy for you now. Keep us posted when you get the chance! :goodvibes

HI DI!!!

I just wanted to say hi real quick.

Thanks for all who posted before my weekend trip. I had a wonderful time with my mom and yes I even got some food pics for you! Some of them are currently on facebook but I seem to have gotten super busy since she left so it might be till tomorrow night till I can really post and get the pics fully loaded. If not tomorrow then maybe Sun or Mon.

I seem to have a busy week ahead of me. Mon I ended up going to AK with Jenny to dry my tears from the airport and today I went to Epcot after work with some friends. Tomorrow, I have my monthly seminar so I hafta get up SUPER early, Thurs is a team builder at Epcot, Fri is Christine's (a girl I work/carpool with) birthday so we're have dinner at Prime Time, and Sat I'm going out with Jenny and others to celebrate now having Sun/Mons off, etc.

So as you can see I will *Try* and post tomorrow to keep you all not on the edge of your seats! But we did have a great time and she is home safe but I hafta go call and check in with her to tell her how my day was and then I'm off to bed...

STAY TUNED!!!

Have a great week.

Love you photos of the ToT run Meghan!!! They are a riot! Nice of the bellhops to play with you.

I am happy you had a good time with your mom. Can't wait to see the photos. Oh, I love the photo of you and your co-workers on the bikes. That is a real keeper and will bring back the memories in years to come.

Hi! I'm sure you don't remember cuz you've talked to tons of people but I met you when i went to DIsney is August. It was probably aruond the 15 or something like that :confused3 You were standing by some big log lol i'm not sure what it was. I told you a few months ago when i went to Disney i would say hi if i saw you and i did :thumbsup2 I just wanted to say hi again...love the report

Me too!!! I was so excited to see you about two weeks ago at AK ! We were at rope drop, and then as we were going in, I saw you there holding your 'bug box', lol!!! I got so excited that I recognized you that we can darting over with my teen daughter, which thought I was totally nuts!!!, btw....teens!!! I took a pic of us, and will try to post so you can try to remember me. That was a real rainy day in AK, our only real rainy day in the 10 day stay, fortunately. We had just just went to grab a bite by Yak and Yeti CS and it started pouring by mid-day thru the evening on/off, if you remember....think it was Sept 1. Have you tried Yak and Yeti and just wondering what you think of the new restaurant. We didnt have enough TS credits to eat there this time, but we had the CS at AK and thought the
'chinese food' was, eh! The honey chicken as dd mentions was chicken nuggets covered in sweet and sour sauce. We were real hungry, so we ate it all :lmao: Anyway, keep up the good work!! So glad the meet with mom went so well, hard for you when she leaves, though! Just look forward till next time. BTW, when does your program end....seems it is forever, no? Regards!!!:goodvibes

Last week-end I was in Lake Buena Vista staying at our timeshare at Grand Beach on 535. The white ones with the red roofs. As I went to Walmart shopping I realized that might be the one by your house, is it? If it is, it must not be too fun to shop there because it is not unusual to find employees who don't speak English. I am sorry but that is to weird for me to be in the US and have that problem.

Anyway, I looked for you on the off chance I might run into you. You are quite a celebrity you know!

Do you ever go to that Krispy Kreme on 192? That is a must for us each trip, I have to have the hot ones! Now my grandaughters are big enough to take with us so that was fun!

Our annual passes to Disney expired so now we have to find other stuff to do over there. This trip our big deal was finally having time to go to IKEA. That was an adventure because I had never been there before. It is amazing how you can spend a hundred dollars on stuff you had no intention of buying!

Just have to add again that I think it is so neat that you have a chance to do all the things you are doing. You will have these memories all your life and will never be sorry you did it. Every one should have a chance to do something like this before they settle down to real life.

HI DIS!!!

Thanks for all the great shout outs at work!! I love the attention and my co-workers feel unloved haha, maybe they should go on Dis too!!??

Anyways, as promised, here is the TR from when my mom was here. I'm not sure how much I'll get through it but I'll try my hardest.

Anyways just to recap, my mom came Sept 4-8. We stayed at POP every night w/o the DDP bc of the free DDP going on now, CMs are unable to get the DDP unless you book the hotel at full price and for $42 bucks a day at POP, it was not worth it to pay full price, maybe next time!

THURSDAY SEPT 4
DAY ONE...

So after work on the 4th I headed right to POP to check in. They let me check in w/o my mom there and I just put my credit card on file until my mom got to FL and then we switched them over.

A week before check-in, I went to POP to request building 10 because that was the building that Amanda and I were in. At check-in the request was not written in and I was put in building 6. The man at check-in apologized and quickly moved me to building 10 room 219.

I headed to the room and unpacked all of my things and took some pics:

After a nice hot POP shower, I headed to Everything POP to get some dinner. My mom had had dinner before she got on the plane so I was on my own but I was okay with that. I went to EPOP and got the crusted chicken with the pasta (now one of my favs). I used my refillable mug for an awesome blue icee :) I did not get any type of dessert figuring that I'd get a snack later when I got my mom.

After dinner, I headed to MCO to get my mom. I had bought a FL Sunpass a week before to use on the toll roads. It worked with wonders and it even worked to park at the airport. I was a few mins early so I went through the Disney Store at the airport until my mom got in. Around 8:30 or so she came walking towards me. Instantly I cried of course bc I have not seen her since June!! We waited at baggage claim forever! It turns out that the MCO ppl mismatched the baggage claims so we had to head to another one and her bag popped right out!

We then drove back to POP and she got to unpack and check out the surroundings (I'm the only one in my fam to ever see POP). We then headed to EPOP and got some snackies (mickey pretzels, rice crispy treats, etc). It was then around 10pm and we decided to try out the pool so we went to Hippie Dippie Pool. It got crowded as it got later which makes sense because of the parks closing. Around midnight or so we headed to bed after showers. I was excited to start my mini "girlie" vacation!

..UP NEXT...
