November of 1999 seems like decades ago instead of just 5 years. DW and I were planning for our second Disney trip ever, and I stumbled onto this little trip planning site that became, for a while, a bit of an addiction. See, they had this community board, and people were talking about all KINDS of stuff, other than just Disney...
5 years and 2000 posts later (yeah, I know that's minor league stuff compared to some of the post totals I've seen
), I've:
Hard to believe it's been five years since I found this place. Thanks for opening this joint, Pete ! Here's to another five years as much fun as the last five
5 years and 2000 posts later (yeah, I know that's minor league stuff compared to some of the post totals I've seen
), I've:- made a lot of friends (you mostly know who you are) and met a TON of friendly people.
- made a few enemies (but never by MY choice)
- gone through a short but virulent addiction to Disney pins and the collectors board (I'm in recovery, but still have relapses occassionally)
- thouroughly enjoyed some healthy debate on the debate board (and joined in the protests when it was closed...only to find that I LIKED having the debates and the other conversations in one place instead of two)
- gone on a "Pin Adventure" with people I'd never met before, led by Jeff and the one and only Mean Laureen.
- shed a few tears, both happy ("Run cableman !" and rabid bats come to mind...if you haven't read that thread you need to) and sad (friends that are no longer with us.....Beverly..."Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust")
- played any number of word and trivia games
- had more fun than should be allowed on company resources
