Not sure if this should have been posted on the trip reports....

Being a new golf widow, I had 2 solo days on this last trip. My first solo day, I spent at MK. I really enjoyed doing only what I wanted to do EXACTLY when I wanted to do it. My first stop was my favorite ride, Buzz Lightyear although I scored pathetically low. I then headed over to Mickey's Toontown and had fun wandering through the houses. I got especially creative with the timer on my camera and took lots of pictures of me! LOL. :D

After that, I went to the castle to view Cindy's show. This was a great show. I really enjoyed all the characters and I yelled right along with the kids.

When it was over I took the trolley back to the beginning of Main Street. I've never been able to do this before because we always seemed to be in rush to get somewhere. I walked over to the barber shop and it was empty. The barbers indicated that it was unusual, but they've just moved the barber shop here. They're now next to the firehouse. I asked if I could take their picture, but they insisted on taking mine. They sat me in the chair, put the cloth around my neck, and took out a big scissors. Oh, and I was thoroughly doused with pixie dust.

Next, it was lunch at Tony's. It was a beautiful day and I sat on the verandah. (Always wanted to eat here, but ... well .... you know how it goes.) I was worried about the food after reading posts here, but I shouldn't have.

After lunch, I walked down main street looking for something sweet. I met the mayor :) and found the most delicious dessert. It was a blueberry crumb cake with cheese filling served hot ... so I asked them to put ice cream on it. :D I ate it outside and enjoyed feeding the birds a little.

I now had to leave for my spa appointment at the GF. At check in, they asked if I just came from a party. Ooops, I forgot about all the pixie dust from the barber's. I had time to enjoy the hot tub and sauna before my services. I had the most wonderful facial. (My pedicure was just so so).

My first solo day at WDW was amazing! I can see how this can get addicting. :D :D :D :D

Thanks so much for a copy of your report here on the Solo Board.

Although I probably wouldn't round out my day with a facial and pedicure, it sounds like a wonderful day and the kind that I would have. Yep, you did exactly as you should have for a solo day; whatever you wanted to do whenever you wanted to do it and take in the little things that are so often missed. Yep, it's easy to see why we like going solo so much!!!

Boy, do I know what it's like to be a golf widow at Disney World (well, really, anywhere). Just curious-was DH at WDW golf courses? If so, which ones? Or has he, like my DH, discovered "his" Disney World, down the road at Bay Hill? Lucky for DH, I enjoy being solo in the parks too!

He played WDW golf at the palms, magnolia and one of the other courses. I wonder if I should mention about the other course you mention. I guess I should ... He likes Disney as much as I do, but has recently discovered the world of golf. (my fault, since I got him the golf lessons, what was i thinking? :D )

Sounds like a GREAT day for you!

I am confused tho, what did you mean by meetig the mayor? Getting cake from him. Is this a vendor? What am I missing here, LOL

Herc.

Just as in any small town of that era, while walking down Main Street, you might just run into the mayor. Well, Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom is no different. There is a mayor and he walks around greating the folks that are visiting his town. Look around for him on your next visit or ask at Guest Services as to when you might see him. He is usually hard to miss with the big red, white and blue sash that reads "Mayor". Just as you might expect from the mayor, everything and everyone are always doing well in his town, there are lots of smiles and plenty of hand shaking.

The comment about the cake would not be tied to the mayor, just probably ran into the mayor outside the Main Street Bakery.

Welcome home! I'm glad to hear that you had such a great trip. :) I love going to WDW solo, and love hearing that other people had great solo stays as well. :)

I rode the trolley when I was there solo, too. It was great. Sounds like you had a great day at the MK and that hot tub sounds wonderful at GF.

Thanks for sharing your trip report with us. In October, myself, my DD(28) and my DGD(7) will be at the world for 9 nights. I'm sending them to Seaworld one day and Discovery Cove another. DD's like "Mom, are you sure you don't want to go?" I want a couple solo days myself! I actually think I'm more excited about the solo days than anything! I'd like to spend a day at MGM to see some of the walkthrough attractions that DGD probably won't have the patience for. I don't know about my other solo day, maybe hang by the pool and have Margarittas. Thanks for posting!
