Left for PHL airport at 6:30 a.m. got flight out which was a little delayed because of rain in Orlando. Even though we were about 20 minutes or so delayed we were met by David of Tiffany Towncar who was very, very nice and helpful and helped us with our luggage and took us to Kash & Carry for our groceries.
Got to CSR around noon and checked in but our rooms weren't ready so we headed out to tour our new environment and headed over to the Dig Site to swim. No sooner than we had tested out the cool water slide it started clouding over and then started thundering, etc. It rained for over an hour while we sat at the bar, a little wet a little anxious for our rooms to be ready. By the time the rain stopped and we walked back over to the lobby and looked in the gift shop, the rooms were finally ready this was 4:00 p.m. We did get our requests for Cabanas 8A however. We were driven over to the rooms and quickly took showers and dressed for our 5:45 ps at Chef Mickeys.
We got to Chef Mickeys and had dinner there and the food was pretty good but the atmosphere less lively than I remembered 3 years ago, after that we ventured into MK to get on a couple of rides, Haunted Mansion, carousel, small world and snow whites adventure and caught a pretty good spot to see Spectromagic Parade which was so beautiful. I thought it was a pretty good first day and we fit quite alot in.
6/23 Second Day: Were were supposed to go to Epcot and do the whole day there but my dd wanted to stay poolside and I'm glad we did because it was the 2nd hottest day of the week and it was lovely. I had a couple of drinks with a floater
That evening, we had to go to Beaches and Cream to meet with 2 fellow Disers because we had an Illuminations Cruise scheduled. My dd and I started off and stopped at MGM to check it out a bit before the launch was to leave for the Beach club. We caught a bit of the parade (all we would ever see of it) and caught the launch over to the Beach club. By now it was raining rather hard. We ate dinner and met one of the parties at Beaches and Cream (great burgers and shakes) After dinner, my family was frustrated with the rain and opted to go home but after I checked with the launch captain and he said that Illuminations would still go off, we decided to try to see if the cruise was still on. At this point we exited the launch at the Boardwalk and walked around trying to find out where the cruise would leave from. My daughter was miserable and when we finally found where we were supposed to be she was crying
Not used to walking around in the rain I suppose but who is? Anyway, the other family met us and we waited for word on the 3rd who actually had the reservation under their name. They did come but to the other pier so we piled on in the rain and luckily sat under the pontoon cover and they gave my father and my dis friend's husband a large umbrella to sit up front with (hee hee) Anyway the 3rd family got on and we headed out. It was beautiful and we sat under the bridge and everybody saw the laser show perfectly. By that time the rain finally stopped yeah!!! I am glad though that we didn't miss the whole experience. Ok well I'm done for now but will be back later to post days 3, 4 & 5 and 6, 7 & 8 later.
