180 day mark is next week. Should I book now or should i wait until April when they might offer free dining. Rumor has it running from 8/26 thru 9/22. We arrive on 9/26....Hate to have to make all the adr's then cancel, then rebook. On the other hand don't want to miss out on any restaurants because I waited too long. Any advice?

At that time of year I don't think you'd be shut out of any place you want to get into if you wait a week (except some of those character breakfasts that go the first few minutes they're open.) But of course if there's something you just can't miss or need a very particular time--don't chance it.

My MIL told me that she heard that ADR's will only be taken 90 days in advance now---is that right? :confused3

I have not heard that. They used to do ADR's (PS's at the time) at 90 days, but moved it back to 180 ADR's a while ago.

Woudl you be changing your vacation if free dining is offered? If not, I'd say go ahead and make your reservations now. Even if the promotion is offered, and the dates are correct, Guests checking in on/by 9/22 will likely get free dining for their entire stays; plus, it's already been offered to two target groups. Any of those Guests who'll be at Walt Disney World that week will also be making their reservations next week. I'd do it as soon as you can.

You can certainly must make the hard to get ones, then add to your list when you know for sure what you are going. I'm assuming you plan to change your dates once the free ddp is announced.?

Yes, if Disney does offer the free dining I will change my dates. Here's my itinerary. Are any restaurants that I should booked right now?

9/26- Lunch-Whispering canyons-

9/27-BREAKFAST CHEF MICKEY'S

9/28-DINNER-Kona Cafe

9/29-DINNER JIKO

9/30-Dinner--ARTIST POINT DINNER

10/1-Dinner-LE CELLIER DINNER

10/2-HOLLYWOOD & WINE-CHARACTER BREAKFAST-

10/2-Dinner-Spoodles

its always better to book sooner rather than later and you can always try to make changes to ressies you have, but if something you really want fills up you can have a really hard time trying to get it later.

if any of your dates will overlap whether you rebook or not, than i suggest booking ADR's for them. i think Le Cellier, artist point and character meals fill up earlier, so they should be top priorities.

yes, you should book what you want now - when free dining comes out, you could change then - but you'd at least have some ADRs booked

I would book asap- who nows with the free dining promo coming out- you may lose out on a few ressies because of the popularity of the restaurant. Ressies go fast. I was lucky- I just made my ressies in the beginning of this week and got everything that I wanted. I had included i the dining plan in my current reservation for 9/16-9/23 and if this promo comes out I will just give Disney a call to change my reservation to include the free dining- a savings of over 800 dollars for me- woohoo!!

Better to be safe than sorry, especially if there is a ressie that you really want- like my Mickey's Backyard BBQ during my stay in september.

I will be making my adrs on friday. I just didn't want to go through the trouble of making them, then find out disney is offering free dining, than change my dates and rebooked. Also if they do the free dining in august and sept and don't announce it until april ,chances are I might not get the restaurants that i want! Guess I will just have to wait and see because I can't pass up on the free dining::yay:

Remember, free dining has already been released to two select groups already and those folks are already making or made their ADRs too. They know they are getting free dining. If I were you and you wanted to eat at LeCellier, I would make two reservations. One for the week you'll get it if no free dining and one the week you will want it if there is free dining. That way you can cancel only one ADR and then work your others in around it. That one will probably be the hardest to get once the free dining gate opens -- the calls for ADRs will flood the system.
