Well this appears to be my 1000 post.

I also need some help. We are going to WDW for my husband birthday and I want to do something special for him but don't know what.

He has already told me he wants to eat at Boma that day. Reservation have been made. But what else can I do. I could do a gift basket. I could schedule a tour but he took the backstage tour last fall.

So I was hoping for some other idea's?:confused3

Also when I made reservation I did tell the CM that it was his birthday but what do they do when they know someone in your party is celebrating a b-day?

Congrats on your 1000th post!
Last year we celebrated our 15th anniversary and we ordered a special cake at Narcoosee. It was really beautiful. Maybe you could order a cake and have them deliver it to your table after the dinner at Boma.

This link will get you all the info. about the cakes, how to order one, and pictures of them.

Happy birthday to your DH! We are going in September for my birthday and our first BLT stay - can't wait! Anyway - I have been for my birthday before. Go to guest services when you arrive at the first park you visit on his birthday, and you will receive a birthday button. He will receive LOTS of birthday wishes. Also this year be sure you take advantage of the birthday "gift" from Disney. There is another thread somewhere with some thoughtful debate on which is better, the birthday fastpasses, free admission on your birthday, or a disney gift card. I haven't decided yet! Also, if you haven't done a segway tour, those are awesome! We did the one of World Showcase early in the day before it opened to the public some years back, and it was wonderful. There is also an offroad one at Wilderness Campground, I believe. AND I think a 15% discount for DVC members is still one of our perks. I am thinking about the offroad one during our trip as a surprise for my own hubby. Have fun!:cake::stitch::eeyore:

Have you looked into the fireworks cruises? We have done it twice once for my DD and once for my mother. Both times we left out of Poly. It was a birthday they will remember.

Ooooh....I've never been on a fireworks cruise! Can you tell me a little more about it? Do you need to make reservations way in advance?

I vote for the deluxe wishes fireworks cruise.:cloud9: I have done both Wishes and Illuminations and prefer Wishes. You have to book it 90 days in advance. They fill up quickly. Check out this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2069267

Congrats on your 1,000 post. I'm still working my way toward mine!!

I was going to suggest one of the Segway tours, too. We loved both Epcot and the Fort Wilderness tours.

When DH did the backstage tour I was doing the segway tour at Fort Wilderness and I loved it. We are planning to do the segway tour on Castaway Cay next year.

What was interesting when I call to add an extra day to our Sept visit the CM mentioned that. "oh I see you will be celebrating a b-day a week before you husbands b-day visit to Disney" I said yep. He then said this will list this on your reservation no reason to let hubby have all the fun. So I am excited to see what happens.

Thanks for the link for the cake I am thinking that would be a good idea too.

If it's his 1,000th birthday, I'm not sure he'll be very participatory in whatever you choose. That caught my eye when I was reading the thread titles. :rotfl2:

One of the upgrade options for the fireworks cruise is to have the boat decorated for a birthday party. This is somewhat pricey, though.

Also check out the Disney Florist at www.disneyflorist.com for some other ideas. They have one package where they'll come into your resort room while you're out, and decorate it for a party. They don't list a price, so I can only imagine what they charge. It does look like a cool surprise, though.

I've taken just about every tour they offer, and loved them all. My absolute favorite, though, was the Magic of our Steam Trains Tour at the Magic Kingdom. If your DH is into trains, and what man isn't when it comes down to it, he'll love this tour.

A romantic thing we've done in the past is a carriage ride along the river at Port Orleans Riverside. The pick-up location is in front of Boatwrights. I think you're even allowed to bring a bottle of champagne along to make it even more romantic.

On the more manly side, how about a parasailing trip, a ride on Characters In Flight at Downtown Disney, or the Richard Petty Experience?

When we did the wishes fireworks cruise we booked it at 90 days out. We boarded the boat at Poly and it was all decorated for the birthday with balloons and a happy birthday banner. There were snacks and soda's on the boat and our driver was wonderful. If this is something you are thinking of doing I definitly say go for it.

Segways on Castaway Cay? Must be new. We were there in 2005 and 2007 and there was no Segway tour on Castaway Cay. We're going again in December though so if there is a new Segway tour, I'll be sure to sign up to go!
