Can someone please talk me into paying $85, letting my daughter(8) stay up till midnight and possibly making her VERY tired? Is MVMCP a must? Please tell me what you love about it. Thanks!

My favorite part of the night is the parade. Nothing better than seeing the Christmas Parade in person not just on the TV. I have 2 DD 6 and 9. We have been attending the MVMCP for year and it has become a tradition for us. The new reports are starting to come in due to the first party this week. Yes it is a lot of extra money but the memories I have are cherished. My oldest...when she was 4 the other still a baby got to meet Cinderella and Prince Charming behine the castle with her glass carriage. Cindy danced with her because we caught it during first parade and noone was there. My film didnt develop right from that night and I lost all the picture but it is in my memories forever.

Everyone at the party is in Christmas spirits...the music, the festivities, go to the gallery and check out the pictures.

Granted the party isn't for everyone. At times for the parade or the fireworks it can get crowded. But there are so many places to retreat and observe some wonderful experiences.

I've never been to MVMCP (keeping my fingers crossed that DH and I will go this December ), but we did attend MNSSHP this October and absolutely loved it. Just viewing the special BOO TO YOU parade and fireworks made it that much more special to us. The parade was the best I have ever seen at Disney. You could see Hallowishes during regualr park hours in October but it didn't end with the panoramic fireworks that it did at the party. There was something so festive about the party and seeing the characters in their party clothes Like I said, I haven't been to MVMCP yet, but judging by the Halloween party MVMCP is definately a must.

How do you do these parades with kids? Like a traditional parade where everyone stands and watches? Or find a place (curb) to sit on? I just think my daughter will be exhausted by midnight!

This will make the second year that we have missed it. And I am deeply regretting it!!!

It is so magical, all the Christmas Decorations, the music, the Holiday attire that the characters wear (although they wear it during the day as well) the parade, the fireworks, and the MUST NOT MISS-the shows. There was (is?) a show in Tomorrowland that just makes me think of what Christmas must have been like in the 50's. It's very "Happy Days" to me.

As far as your daughter staying up that late-be sure to not book anything to early the next morning. If you can let that be a lighter planned day, we've found that works out best.

Also, I'm not sure what type of tickets you have, but what we've done in the past is used the day of the party as an "off" day-hang at the resort, or go and see the other resorts decorations. Your MVMCP ticket will allow you access to the park at 4:00-no other ticket needed.

We enjoy the MVMCP and will go again, despite the addtional cost...it the experience and the special joy it provides to our children. We have never stayed from start to finish, but depart when we have had enough. It is a special night with special character encounters that we have captured in photos. As they say, Priceless. On the other side of the coin, if you don't go to the MVMCP how would you spend the $85?

Too bad you are missing it. I hope they don't run out of tickets before I get mine! I leave the day after the party so I am thinking DD (8) will be able to sleep in till about 11am that morning. It snows?
