My DD is 2.5 and at home she goes to bed between 7-7:30PM and loves her sleep. She will sleep 12 hours overnight. However, at Disney (and she has been 10 times) she generally stays up until 9-9:30 on a "regular" night, and has stayed up later. Always still waking up early (there is NO sleeping in for us - by 7AM we are all awake).
As for the party I can only compare it to our recent
MNSSHP visit on 10/5. It was my birthday, so I did have a very full day planned. We started out with a pre-park BF at CP, stayed at MK through her nap at 1, then she napped in the stroller while we relaxed at the resort. Went out to dinner at the GF, then made it to the party at 7. During the party we went to the dance parties, did trick or treating, saw HalloWishes, and stayed for the 2nd parade (I want to say that was at 10:30 or 11?). She isn't a huge fan of fireworks, so she actually dozed during those with earmuffs on, and then woke up and was up until about 11:30 -enjoyed the parade and then fell asleep on our way out of the park.
We didn't ride but 1 ride - Barnstormer - which is her current favorite ride (I say current bc our next trip she'll make the 38" height requirement for 7DMT and I know she'll love it!!). I don't think going to the parties and riding rides seems worth it, but we are RD people so get on everything then or with FP.
We also do love meeting characters but were not inclined to wait in long lines to do so.
That all being said, I left feeling like the MNSSHP was not really worth it, as we are definitely more Christmas-people than Halloween-people - and I wanted to book a December trip just to go to
MVMCP instead!
FWIW, we made the early 8AM opening of AK the following day and she was 100% fine with the late night. My husband however, was not, but he isn't really big into Disney to begin with and complained about staying for the 2nd parade.
