Hi, we will be there December 4-11 and thought it would be fun to try the MVMCP. I understand it starts at 7:00, right? I will have a 4 year old and a 21 month old. Do people bring toddlers and if so, how late do you stay? If they do go, how do you handle the day of and the day after as far as visiting parks? Would you have a pool day the day of so they are well rested? Would you do a pool day the day after since they will probably be tired? We will have other relatives there with us, should we leave them both with them or leave the 21 month old? (I really would hate to do this, though :) ) I'm just curious what others have done, I guess I will have to wait and see how the 21 month old is at that time with naps, etc. I kind of already know what the 4 year old will be like....probably be able to stay up and then have a quiet day the day after. Should I just wait until they are older?

Thanks!

Go ahead and take both kids and have fun! We were there this past year with our two young children - 2 yr old & 6 months at the time. The both really enjoyed it and there were many other young children. We didn't do anything the day of the party and made sure they both got good naps in. We then went early and had dinner at LTT. We stayed til about 10 - 10:30 right after fireworks. Sounds like you have options or alternatives if things don't go as planned. With young ones, you must be prepared to adjust schedule even if it means leaving early/wasting tickets.

we went in 2001 with our 4 and 6 yr olds. We chose to stay at FW during the day and just do the MVMCP in the evening. Great shows, however there were lines for rides. It was our last day there so the kids had done all the rides already. They loved the shoes and we stayed til closing. I highly recommend it.

MVMCP=Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

The first time we went, our two boys were barely 2 and 4. They really enjoyed themselves. We would go to a park in the morning, and let them rest in the afternoon. We hit the park at 7 and usually stayed until the closing. Just remember to bring a light blanket for the little ones as it gets pretty cold at night.

We did the MVMCP this last Dec., around the same dates as you...we were there on the 11th. Since you pay seperate admission anyway for the party, we chose to lay low during the day, so the kids could rest up a bit, {although mine were a bit older than yours, 5 & just turned 7}. We all LOVED it, especially the free hot chocolate. :crazy:
We waited until after the fireworks to visit ToonTown and it was dead. The opend up all 3 rooms in th Judge's Tent and we just went back and forth from room to room because there was no one else in there. The Characters were being so silly and playing with the kids, etc. We got awesome pics of all of us with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip & Dale all in their Christmas gear. If your kids make it that late, I would highly suggest saving that until last, it was the best!!!
Bottom line...take the kids, they'll LOVE it!!! :teeth: :teeth:
