MVMCP...Which night 12/5-Sunday or 12/7- Tuesday?

With my day to make my dining reservations right around the corner, it dawned on me that I need to nail down a date for going. I've heard mixed things about this but as it is our first trip during the holiday season wanted to give it a chance.

With that said, fellow dvc'rs break out your cyrstal balls...which night will have lower crowds? The 5th is available for our discount while the 7th is not. The few dollars difference in price doesn't matter to me as much as anticipated crowd level. Any thoughts? I sure would appreciate any help.

Personally, I was leaning towards the 5th since Disney must feel the need to entice people to come on that night (thus offering discounts) while the 7th there aren't any so they are thinking they could sell the allotted tickets? On the flip-side, the 5th is a Sunday and I would've thought that a weekend night would be busier than a Tuesday?

Oh the planning of the vacation is sooo much fun...some of ya'll love it...me, it is simply a means to a wonderful end and the smile on my dd's face! Oh yeah, my DW too

I would think Sunday would be better then tuesday. For sure Tuesday at MK til the party will have light crowds. The discount will bring out the DVCer's. If not discount on tuesday then I would just look at the weather. Either day should be wonderful.

We will be there on the 7th. We always go on the Tuesday of that week. Never had a problem with it being crowded before. I'm not sure why that isn't a discount date this year.

We've done Sunday and Tuesday for MVMCP and the crowds were about the same in early and mid-December. The lines for rides are non-existent no matter which night you choose. The second parade is always less crowded no matter which night, however, the character lines do tend to get a bit long also.

Yes... they'll push off putting the main street garland and the big tree up until after it's recorded. I'd go with Tuesday just to be sure.

Definitely go with the 12/7 route. The parade taping caused craziness at the parks last year. After the weekend the wait times dropped dramatically!!! You're still going to hit Pop Warner....but avoid the parade dates at all costs (unless you plan on going to them of course).

We're doing MVMCP on the 5th. By the late afternoon of the 5th, the parade stuff will be put away and all will be back to normal. There won't be any affect on MVMCP from the parade, IMHO.

I've heard Sundays are less crowded than Tuesdays. I know that's more true the later into December you get. I don't know if it matters then. We're going the following Sunday.

November 8, 11, 12, 16, 18, 19, 28, and 30;
December 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, and 19

Prices for the party are as follows (all prices listed include tax):

Advance Purchase: $57.46 for adults 10 and older / $51.07 for ages 3-9 (Not available December 7, 10, 12, 17 or 19)

Passholder and DVC Member Discounts: $53.20 / $46.81 (Not available December 7, 10 through 19)

Day of Event (if still available): $63.85 /$57.46
