MVMCP - Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know...

We're going to MVMCP on 12/15. We're thinking of going to see the decorations at the different resorts and having a late lunch. Then we'll just have a snack in MK during the party. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!:yay::yay::yay::yay:

Don't wast park tickets by going to parks that day - spend the morning/afternoon checking out the decorations at the other hotels.

Make an breakfast reservation at a resort - we liked the Ohanu because it had characters.

Make this a relaxing day so you can stay at the park until closing. The crowds will really start to thin out as the night goes on.

We had really warm weather when we were there in December so I left my DS where shorts to MVMCP. Well it got very cold in the evening and we were scrambling to find sweatpants for him - along with the rest of the people. Everything to keep you warm (including beach towels) were going like hotcakes from the stores. Make sure you take extra clothing for when the temperature starts to go down.

Arrive at the MK by 4 p.m. - they will let you in on your MVMCP ticket at 4.

I can't wait for the MVMCP!!!

I am planning on going on 12/8 but now that I think about it none of the other parks have late nights that night so it be more crowded :confused3

I am still going to do the 8th because I have worked other plans around that night :santa:

I decided to do 12/10 instead!! It actually worked out better because my family that lives in Orlando is going to meet us there at MVMCP. Maybe we will hotel hop a bit to see some christmas decorations.

Any recommendations of which ones to see???

I had decided to skip MVMCP, but now am rethinking it as we might never have the chance to go again. My kids are 12 & 16 and aren't into meet & greets with the characters & they're always telling me that the shows are corny. (Where oh where have I gone wrong? Hehe.) Other than the parade and special pins, is there any other reason TO go? It doesn't sound like the ride lines are shorter.

us too, my kids are not into the shows no matter how great :headache: and they will not be able to stay past 10 so i doubt we would benefit from them. They are also not much into parades, so looks as though we wont be there :sad2:

DD and I are going to MVMCP on Nov 19th. We have 4:15 ressies at Crystal Palace. We've gone to MNSSHP 3 times, but have never done the Christmas party!

Well, in the five times we've done MCMVP so far, the ride lines were shorter, especially as the night went on. That's been our experience, which we liked. We also like staying late in the parks. People see the first shows and parade and many with the small kids start going home early then. The Holiday Wishes fireworks are awesome! Of course, so are the regular ones, lol! Oh, besides special pins they usually have other party special merchandise such as holiday mugs. And, I think we only went to the shows the first time we did the party, though we've done the late parade each time and the fireworks. Hope you choose to go and have an awesome time! :santa:

We're going to MVMCP on 12/10, and have dinner ressies at 4:30 at Boma (our home hotel). We are planning on relaxing at AKL that day and possibly seeing the sites before taking on the party after dinner.

Does anyone know if there is a separate thread for others who are going to the party and a list of when they are going?:santa:

Great question! We will be at the 12/10 party and have a 5:05PM ressie at Ohana!

We are going to the 12/01 party. First time for the MCMCP and it's a suprise Christmas gift for my three friends. Here's the plan -

Rope drop at MK 9:00 am. We will be using park tickets for this, but will have already seen all the other parks by this time and it's our only MK day. We plan doing Fantasyland, Liberty Square, Frontierland and Adventureland. We will eat breakfast at the resort, so we won't need to stop for lunch. We can always have a snack if we get hungry.

2:30 ADR for Afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. We will check out the Christmas decorations. We will have already seen the Poly decorations on Saturday when we have dinner at 'Ohana. It will be a nice break from the park to relax and put our feet up.

Back at MK at 4:00 using our party tickets. We will take the train around to Toon Town. Normally I would skip TT but since the will be the last chance to see it I don't want to miss it. Then we will tour Tomorrowland and work our way back to the HUB.

I am hoping to be done with everything by the time the party starts at 7:00 so we can devote our time to it. After we are done with all we want to see there, we will repeat our favorites. We are all adults who are used to going all day, so we won't need to go back to the resort for a rest.

Thanks everyone! Keep the tips coming!

My general plan is to go to MK early that morning (Dec. 10th) get DD's birthday fun card, tour a few hotels then take it easy at the resort until 4ish.

I just can't decide where to eat. It's DD's 4th birthday and I was orginally just thinking cosmic rays, but then I thought about making an ADR at Tony's (if I can get one). Any suggestions? Could we see the parade while dining at tony's?

We are also going to the MVMCP on Dec. 10 (my birthday).

See ya there:rotfl:

Hope you and your family have a great time!!

Well, I'm an adult but I need a rest just reading your plans. Have a great time.

I ordered my tickets online and printed them out. Do I have to go to Guest Services and get an actual ticket or do they just scan the paper at the gate?

We are going to the party on 12/1. I've been to WDW many times but always in June. Even if it's crowded at least it won't be hot like June. :rotfl:
I also ordered online and printed my e-tickets. The ticket says on it to present it at the turnstile where directed. "You do not need to wait in Will Call or Ticket Purchase queues." I'm guessing that this means there will be turnstiles with barcode readers to handle the e-Tickets.
