MVMCP - Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know...

Thanks for the info, guys! I can't wait to call tomorrow to see about the AP refund on the 12/13 tickets (5 of them!). If I hadn't been reading this thread, I would not have known about it.

:thumbsup2

We plan on trying to make the second parade with our DS7 and DD5 and are wondering what are the best shows before that as they seem to be at the same times...

Belle's Enchanted Christmas 7:30
Celebrate the Season 7:45
Tomorrowland Christmas Show 7:45

or is there some way to see all three?

Also, any advice on timing to go to the Character Dance Parties?

Thanks - lots of great advice here!

If you can manage, I suggest seeing one of the later Celebrate the Season shows, as the earlier ones are always packed. I've never seen Belle's Enchanted Christmas, so I can't speak from experience about that one. As for Tomorrowland's new show, I'd see that during the first available time and get it out of the way. :thumbsup2

We bought our tickets back in July. We did not get an AP or DVC member discount because the night we are going was not a discounted night.
I found out yesterday about the new discount date added. I called Ticket Services and they are refunding me $16.38. Not a huge deal but every dollar counts towards drinks or a meal or extra presents!
I am going to try to call them today to see if I can get a partial refund too:thumbsup2

Thanks Plannin'Shannon! Anyone else seen Belle's Christmas? My dd5 loves her!:lovestruc

What # is Ticket Services?

I just called the # on the MVMCP ticket receipt (407-566-4985) and because we had the tickets mailed to us, they are telling me they have to void these tickets, credit us the full amount and then issue new tickets at the reduced price. Because we have to show ID to get the AP discount, they can't mail the new tickets, we would have to pick up the new tickets at the Will Call window.

Is that what you guys are hearing?

Hey all I had a few questions that I'm hoping someone will be able to answer. This is my 3rd MVMCP in a row and I always go on the last party night this year being the 18th. I followed the link to the pins for this year as I get them every year and I noticed that the AP pin is the Daisy and Donald. I'm in a bit of a crisis because I'm not an AP holder and my favorite character is Daisy. Are they not going to have a regular Daisy pin this year and am I not going to be able to get it....that woud be horrible =(. Does anybody know the situation? I have friends that are cast member and I have annual pass holder friends can they purchase them online or over the phone or will they be selling them christmas week?

Quoting myself because I called back today to go thru with it and got a totally different story. They are just refunding me $15.95 and are mailing me the new tickets!

Let me first start off by saying how GREAT this thread is! SO MUCH info!!! This is going to be our VERY FIRST trip to WDW and we were told we HAD to do the MVMCP. I had been reading page by page and now I have questions. We will be at WDW from Nov 27th- Dec 6th. When would be the best time to do MVMCP? I believe the dates for our trip our Nov 29th, Dec 1st, Dec 3rd and 4th. Are any better than the other? Do we want to avoid the 4th with the assumption of there may be too many people? I have a 9 yr old and a 2 1/2 yr old.

The hubby and I are also trying to decide if it is worth the cost of the special tickets to go. We are Disneyland natives, so we have seen Disneyland all decked out and their winter castle and holiday parades. Are the two similar?

Thanks for letting this newbie ask some questions. I just want to try and make our first trip magical! :)

Where is the best (non-main street) viewing area for the parade? We usually watch the others from main street so I thought I might be missing out on some other really good vantage points

Hi :)

We go to both parks too, but we have never been to either park at Christmas time. The way I figure it is if we are going to go to the trouble of a trip all the way across the country at a special time of year, it has to be worth trying MVMCP at least once. As far as the best days, from what I understand the parties are usually not so busy early in December...but I would guess the the 1st and 3rd might be better than the 4th? Maybe someone with more experience can help us out. :goodvibes

Hi :)

The super knowledgeable and always helpful Robo has put together a nice set of maps for this and many other things WDW related. Here is a link to a website that has his maps...just use the drop-down menu to find the one you want.

P.S. Thanks Robo!

We went to MVMCP last night and we watched the parade from a spot I have never watched it from before. We stood by the funnel cake place. I thought it was a great spot because a lot of the floats ended up stopping right in front of us until the bridge was cleared.

The pins you viewed online are the ones that will be released. With the exception of the AP one you can see that there will not be a Daisy pin . They can only be purchased at the event and are not available via phone or online. Per the pin web site: If any quantities remain on December 19, 2009, the pins will be sold on a first come, first serve basis at Uptown Jewelers. Theme Park admission to Magic Kingdom® Park will be required to purchase pins at that time. I would still assume that you would have to be an AP holder to get that one though.

Sorry if this was already asked, but does anyone know which pins will be released on which nights of the party this year? Or are they all just released at once? Thanks! :santa:

If you have your AP or AP voucher, you can get up to date information on the disneyworld.com site in the AP holder's section. You have to sign in with your AP certificate or ticket information.:surfweb:

We saw this show on Thursday, 11/12. We went to the first show at 7:30. We got our seats around 6:45. It was a long wait, but they had already started serving hot chocolate at cosmic ray's so dh brought us a tray of it and cookies to enjoy while we waited. We were in the first row on the left (looking at the stage). Belle's helpers came out a few minutes before the show and asked some of the kids to help out during the show, and my dd was maestro (probably spelled that wrong!!) :-) It was a really cute show but it does fill up fast! Immediately after the show we were able to catch the Celebrate the Seasons show right in front of the castle at 7:45. We didn't bother with the new stitch show, dh said he heard it while waiting in line for something with dd, and heard buzz lightyear rapping about christmas... not something I would want to make time for!!
