MVMCP - Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know...

I hope the new Stitch show doesn't suck...but it most likelly will  :cutie:

I don't even think I'm going to make the effort. I really, really don't like Stitch. I don't think I can take sitting through an entire show. I'm so disappointed about the Twas show though.

Sorry if this has been stated but what time are the parades and fireworks? I will be there Nov. 20th.

Thanks!

You mean STANDING through an entire show. The Tomorrowland Theater is gone. Another reason that this show will likely not be on our priority list.

Official 2009 info will not be available until the first party. In years past, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade took place at 8:15pm and 10:30pm, and Holiday Wishes was at 9:30pm. :santa:

Same here. He is the only Disney character I absolutely cannot stand. If he doesn't make me nauseous, the pop-tastic holiday soundtrack surely will.

we are going to Seaworld on Dec.13th. I was thinking of booking for the Xmas party this nite - what's your opinion on this ?

I just purchased tickets for the December 4th party. I saw someone previously ask whether they will have sugar free hot cocoa and cookies. I never saw an answer though.

Does anyone know? Being diabetic I'm crossing my fingers that they will otherwise I guess my husband will have a nice time eating the cookies and drinking the cocoa!

We have tickets for MVMCP on the 12th of November. I know it's early to be in the Christmas spirit, but we are only at WDW for a few days, pre-cruise, and wanted to do this. To the poster who was wondering if the park would even be decorated for Christmas this early -- I can't see Disney NOT going whole-hog on Christmas decorations for a Christmas party, regardless of how early is might seem.

Our plan for the day of the party is to not even bother with regular park tickets. We are staying at Bay Lake Tower so we'll probably kill the day hanging at the pool or browsing shops until 4pm, then take advantage of the lighter crowds (supposedly pre-Thanksgiving is supposed to be lighter crowds anyway, and we are hoping that the earlier MVMCP won't be as busy either).

I'd like to try for watching the later parade and trying to get some rides in during the early one, but a lot depends on the kids and how tired they are. One plus is that our bodies will still likely be on Mountain Time (we arrive on the 10th), and it won't seem as late.

Well, we'll see you there then! :yay: We're driving down from Charleston for a few days. Bringing our 27dd and her boyfriend. They've never been to FL or MK. Hubby (a Brit) and I have been to MK loads of times but never to MVMCP so should be a real treat for all of us! Like you, we're not going to do MK that day - just MVMCP.

It sounds like during those 8 hrs we'll be there, that we'll be able to do all the rides we want to do so I think MVMCP is excellent value for money especially when it's just adults concerned.

My wife is a diabetic as well, and it would be nice for Disney to accomdate these guests.

BTW: Her doctor recently changed her to an Insulin Pump and I have to say the change is amazing. This is technololgy like we have never seen before (she has been a diabetic for 33 years). When she eats, she just tests her sugar levels, counts the carbs in the meal and the system calculates the insulin needed and injects it. During non-meal times, it gives her a constant lo-dose of insulin so she stays more level all day. She reduced her A1C by over a point in only a month. She can even eat between meal snacks and, allowing for the carbs, take a temporary injection. This thing acts like a normal pancreas. Allowing for the carbs in the chocolate and cookies, she can have them, guilt free, and just let the pump do it's thing. It has changed our lives and freed us from always having to eat at the same time everyday and allows us to get around a whole lot more.
Yes, you stil need to continually check your sugar levels, but being able to take corrective action and a smoothing out of lows and highs has been a huge benefit.

Also, the Next Generation of pumps will offer continous glucose testing. If only the insurance companies will get on board with them.

Yes, they sure do! The Treat Stations have special gluten-free and sugar-free cookies available upon request. You can also get sugar-free hot chocolate. :santa:

Thanks for responding. I actually wore a pump to Disney this weekend. I tried one a few years back when at I was diagnosed and had trouble with it. Well not physical problems but more of an emotional problem. This weekend though I seemed to do fine.

:cheer2: Yay! It'll be nice knowing I will be able to have some and won't have to watch my husband enjoy it all night while I sit there upset!

Personally, I would not enjoy the party after such a full day. SeaWorld is a great park with so much to see and do - a really full day park, IMHO.
On the day that we attend a special event party, we either have a non-park day or we head into a park when they open and leave right after a late lunch (say 1 -2). We head back to the resort, take a swim, sit in the hot tub and put our feet up for an hour or two by the pool, or we take a nap/rest in our room. That way we are rested when we get to the party ("rested" being a relative term in WDW;)) and ready to see and do all the party has to offer until midnight.:santa:

Agreed. If you want to get the most out of the party, arrive fully energized at 4pm and stay until closing. We'll be sleeping in, enjoying a leisurely breakfast and checking out resort Christmas decorations until 4pm. :thumbsup2

I have tickets for tonight. I hope it isn't too rainy. We are supposed to have thunderstorms tonight.
