I am not planning to buy party tickets until i know the weather forcast for that day. We hope to go day of arrival and have a 6 day ticket for the remainder of our stay. If i am able to get party tickets for that first day, will it be an issue when we arrive at 4 pm using the ticket early admission or will it take a day admission from us?

You just need to make sure you go through the entrances marked for the party. Those are set to scan for the party ticket entitlements and not regular tickets. At least that is how my friend in GR explained it to me.
