I have friends that will be in the Orlando Ares in early December and have just one day to spend in the MK with their two little ones. It is a day with a party. I am suggesting they forgo regular park tickets and get tickets to the Christmas party.

I am suggesting they have a late lunch in a monorail hotel, look around and maybe hit the arcade in the hotel if they are early and then enter the MK at 4:00. Good plan?

Can they make any kind of advanced fast passes for between 4:00 and 7:00 that day?

You can pre book fp with just the party ticket as far as I know.

I suppose, nothing is really a given, Disney COULD change the policy at any time. That said, they have been allowing party guests into the parks at 4 for quite a few years now, so it is pretty likely to happen this year, but I would say not written in stone.

Wow! I had no idea. Thank you. Can you do this 60 days out if staying at a Disney resort?

Yes. I was able to do it for my September trip just this week. 5 days of actual FP+ and then 1 day with a party ticket. :)

Do you get 3 regular ticket fastpasses and three party ticket fastpasses, if you have both tickets?

Nope.

Guests can only book up to 3 FP+ in advance, regardless of the number of valid tickets that they have.

I'm not sure it is a good plan if they have "3 little ones". Party nights are late nights and usually "little ones" don't last long enough to make it worth the cost.
I would advise them to go on a regular park ticket, be there at rope drop, and spend the day until 7. Then hit a monorail resort for dinner and call it a night.
In general, party days a less busy in the MK, but according to Josh of easywdw that was not the case last year.

Thanks everyone. I'll lay out both options. One rope drop and he other Party. There are clearly pros and cons of both.

We enjoyed the party very much, but had no little ones, so a different situation for us.
