MVMCP - How crowded?

I am still debating which day to do the MVMCP. How do you think the crowds will be December 12th vs December 19th? My dilemma is that on the 12th, only part of our family will be here (college kids & finals issues), but by the 19th, we'll all be at the world! I do have ADR's for LTT on the 19th in anticipation of doing MCMCP that day, but I was worried about it being packed - anyone with experiences/recommendations?

Well there will be at least 3 there on the 19th

We hit MNSSHP on the 28th last year they said it would be packed around the 31st and it wasn't to bad .

I think most kids are still in school on the 19th so thats why we are going then .The 21st & 22nd Might be a total different story .

We did it on the 14th in 2004 not crowded at all. It was cold though and I mean cold. Low 30's that night and it thinned out fast after the fireworks. There were some area's where there wasn't anyone around.

One thing to think about Florida does get cold in the evenings in December so bring warm clothing especially for little ones. I saw so many little ones crying because they were cold, many with light clothing and no jackets.

I had on boots, hat, mittens and 2 coats (light jacket under my winter coat) and was still cold. When Florida get cold it's a damp bone chilling cold. I'm from New England when December can be bitter and this cold bothered me more then a extra cold day back home.

We went to MVMCP last year on Tuesday Dec. 13th. The crowds were average. Not bad at all. It was in the 30's that night also. Very much worth it.

We went on the last night last year when it was sold out and it was great! It is crowded when you are coming in and the day folks are leaving, but as the night goes on it gets less and less crowded.

I think crowd reports you will see are pretty unreliable. You'll see a dozen reports coming back from a party, half saying it was empty, half saying it was packed.

What seems to happen at the parties is that people clump. There just aren't enough people to fill up the park, but the people who are there tend to end up in a few places. So it can be jam packed at one spot, while other parts of the park are deserted.

At MVMCP last year, I went in to Cosmic Ray's to get a snack. Overflowingly full. Instead I walked over to PB's, which was empty.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about trying to avoid crowds. Go the day that works best for you. When you get to the park, just know that if you end up in a crowd, go somewhere else.

We went to the party last year and found it to be pretty crowded and very cold. Personally I didn't think it was worth the extra money. The shows were good and the parade was nice but then I realized I could see the same stuff later for free.
