MVMCP Dilemma

I am in need of some help. Here is my story: I planned a grand gathering event for my family and we are down to under 2 months to go and they have cancelled on me. I have already purchased MVMCP tickets for Dec 6 as a surprise for everyone but the surprise is on me because I am stuck with these tickets now. My husband, kids and I are still going but what can I do with the other tickets? Is it legal to sell them on Ebay? :confused3 There are 4 adults and one child so we are talking quite a bit of money I am out of. Not sure if anyone has any ideas but I needed to vent! Thanks everyone.

Since it is Christmas afterall why don't you just look around when you check in and give the tickets to a nice looking family. You will feel really good afterwards.

Maybe contact the Make A Wish people and see if they could use them for someone and make a donation out of them? Maggie

First, call and ask for a refund, you never know, it has happened before. If that is a no go, put them on ebay, I bought two tickets that way last year. If they don't sell, then I would give them away to some nice family or the make a wish folks. That is a lot of money.

Try contacting Disney directly. We were supposed to go last Dec., had the tickets since May..............then in August, my DH was diagnosed with cancer and we needed to cancel. I called them, they were so nice about it.....told me not to give it a second thought. All I had to do was mail the tickets back to them and they refunded me the cost of 5 tickets. I'm sure if you tell them what happened, they will be understanding.

BTW, we're going to be there Dec. 6th as well!! :Pinkbounc

I would be curious if they provide a refund since the card has your last name on it and are non-transferable, void if altered, revocable and nonrefundable.

On the other hand, considering the tickets were bought under Disney's Grand Gathering process I would expect a level of understanding and action on Disney's part which may not follow all the legal text found on the back of the MVMCP card.

If they won't give you a refund and you can't sell or give the tickets to someone else, see if they can exchange them for a different night and then you and your family can go twice.

Is this something new for this year? I do not recall having my name on MVMCP tickets in the past. Do you have to tell the the names of all the people traveling with you when you order them? I often order tickets for several people - how do they know whose name to put on the ticket?

Best wishes -

I just pulled my tickets out....the only say Guest 10+ (everyone's an "adult" now in disney's eyes  ) No where does it indicate our names and when I ordered, they didn't ask.

I just checked mine to see what it says...my name is not on the MVMCP ticket card anywhere. The back of it does state that it is non-transferable and must be used by the same person each time. That would tell me that you couldn't try to pass it around somehow and try to get two people in on the same card. What would happen to those people that bought a bunch as say, Christmas gifts for their families that might be in WDW at that time?
I would think that you could find someone that would like to buy them from you. I'm just not sure as to the best way to do that. Someone here has probably done it before and can tell you.

I bought tickets for Dec. 9th, a Friday, for my mother and myself. She requires an infusion treatment due to very frail health, and when I went to arrange that with the medical folks who were coordinating treatment during our vacation, the only day that worked for the treatment was the same evening as our MVMCP tickets. I called ticketing and they were very kind. They had me mail them back the tickets, then reissued them for Sunday the 11th and mailed them back to me. They even refunded the higher cost for the original tickets. I would call ticketing and talk with them about your options. The number is on the sheet that came with the tickets.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I am excited to say that 2 wonderful DISer's may buy my adult tickets. You guys are the greatest on this board. :teeth:

Me too - I'll be there on Dec 6th as well. I hope someone buys your tickets.

BTW - my tickets do have my name on the back in VERY SMALL print. I would never have noticed it unless someone pointed it out

Yes - you're right - all 6 of the tickets I ordered have my last name in very small print just off the right hand side of center at the bottom of the back of the card.

Wow, I looked at mine very thoroughly, I thought, and could have sworn my name wasn't there. But, it was...right under my thumb, where I was holding it. Thanks for noticing!!

Give Kids the World would be happy to accept the tickets and you would get a tax write off.
