MVMCP 2011 Thread

We leave exactly two weeks from today too!!:banana::banana: hoping to hit EPCOT for a couple of hours before they close!

Will do, you too!! I have short blonde hair, and DH has NO hair :rotfl: We'll be with my two sons, one (18yo) has dark hair, 6'2", and the other (21 yo) has dark blonde hair and around 5'10". We'll be with DH's parents too, they both have silver hair. :goodvibes I think we'll probably be going to DTD the day of the party too and maybe pick up the boys some T-shirts for the party. The in laws aren't going to get in until around noonish (they live in FL), so we don't want to go too far and be able to get back to the resort easily when they get in (we're staying at OKW)

We are also leaving 2 weeks from today and staying at OKW. :yay: My DD4 is already packing. She keeps asking me if we need to take '...' and show me something. Normally it is something we will need to pack. We are going to the party on 12/11.:santa:

Finally got the tickets for the 7th. Question? What happens when it rains? What runs and what does not? Will they still run the parade if it rains?

What about the stage shows? Will they still run in the rain? I assume that things will shut down during lightening but I am just wondering...trying to plan ahead.

Maybe we'll see you around on the bus or something! We are staying in a dedicated two-bedroom near the Hospitality House...in-laws will be in a studio. My boys are excited about having a room to themselves, I can't wait to see, I've never been in a two-bedroom (or OKW!) before. I hear it's easy to get to DTD from there, have you ever gone from OKW to DTD before?

We are only staying there the 10th-13th, and then going to US/IOA for a night, and then back to WDW at BLT for the last two nights.

Seems to be a bunch of us going to the party on the 11th! I'm hoping the ride lines will be really short.

Your DD is pretty smart!! Sounds like she's a DIS-traveller in the making!! :goodvibes

Oh how fun I hope we bump into each other!!! MY DH is in the same boat as your DH:rotfl:!! I will try to remember to put a LGMH on my bag too.

I've never stayed at OKW either. I heard you could walk from OKW to DTD. I guess we will see how easy in 2 weeks.

We are staying in a studio. I'm hoping for a room near the Hospitality House.

We will not be riding the rides so you don't have to worry about us in the ride lines. I'm hoping the character lines are not to long since they are important to my DD.

This will be her 4th trip to Disney in the 3.5 years. We will be easy to identify. I'm short at 5' with light brown hair. My DD has black hair and will be in a red unbrilla stroller. It's just the 2 of us.

I'll be sure to put a LGMH on my purse too! Yeah, DH says he's "bald by choice", (he's always shaved his head since I've met him), but I have a sneaky suspicion that he's folically challenged. :rotfl:

Do you guys have any special plans for your anniversary? Don't forget to stop at Town Hall and ask for Anniversary buttons.

We'll keep our eyes out for you too....and you can take our place in the character lines...I don't think my boys will be too excited to take pics with a princess...they are just too cool  :rotfl: I'm thinking even with as many of us going on the 11th, it's still going to be relatively slow since it's a Sunday night, and not quite school break. This is a special trip for us, I haven't seen my oldest son for almost 2 years, as he's living in NH now since he was medically discharged from the Army. I am just so excited, and he texts me everyday with excitement.:banana: This will be an extra special trip with your daughter too, just being the two of you!! I took my "baby" last year, kind of a last hurrah before he graduated, and we had such a blast!! He's surprised me by planning where/when to get fast passes and pretty much park touring plans with the maps after we got there. :confused3 I was like "where did you get this from?" I think HE'S a commando DISer in the making, and will have to watch out for him this trip!! :rotfl:

The night we were at the party, November 15th, the first three families in line said they got in line at 4:30pm.

My Family and I have gone for about 4 years in a row now, and have never gone to the Christmas Party. we have tickets for Dec16th(Sunday Night). How does this work?. Do they clear the park out first?I have a son who has Autism so i want to be careful. any info would be helpful. also where is a good place to watch the parade. I thought up by the train station when you first walk in.
thanks in advance

When the party starts, people start being gently guided out of the park. They will rope off areas, and only let you through If your wearing a wrist band....until it's later in the evening. After the party's rolling, they'll take the ropes down, and if someone has STILL lingered, they will be asked to leave. I've seen people in the crowds watching the parade, that managed to hide the fact they were not wearing a band....tho I doubt they'd ever get on a ride.

Are you going on the 11th?

Doesn't really matter. Sunday the 18th is already sold out. I'll be shocked if Friday the 16th doesn't sell out as well.

If you want to watch from the train station, better just go up there the minute you arrive at the party. Also keep in mind the giant Christmas tree will be up in the hub, obscuring much of the view up Main Street. You will certainly see the parade as it comes around the hub, but won't have a great view up Main Street.

Me and DH sat up there during the last MNSSHP, it was a wonderful place to watch the parade...but not-so-much the fireworks. DH wanted to take pics and the flagpole was in the way. If you go early, you can snag an actual seat you can pull up to the railing.

Just once I want to go the first week of December. They take the flag pole down in preparation for the parade but the tree isn't up yet.

Clear, unobstructed view from the train depot. Gotta add that to my Disney "to do" list.

did anyone do a TR? Im on a trip report frenzy...

Mine just started and is linked in my signature. I'm still on our first park day. I attended 3 parties that week. If you have any specific questions, let me know.
