We will be at MVMCP for the first time ever on Friday night. I'd love to know all the seasoned veteran tips for making the most of the night. It'll be me, DH, DD11, DS8, and DS4. I'd love to know what NOT to miss and how to best plan the evening. Haven't done much research about this - been too busy trying to get ready for Christmas so we can go to WDW!!!

TIA

Well, it is going to be extremely crowded. The last party is always the most crowded and this one has been sold out for more than a month. Here are some tips that I can think of:
- You can get in to the MK with just your MVMCP tickets as early as 3:45 or 4:00. Arrive as early as you can. Ride some rides during those first couple of hours.
- Get your family picture done very first thing. Like around 6:15 or as early as they start doing them.
- Try to get your cookies and hot chocolate very early on or very late, because there will be long lines in between.
- Try to focus on seeing the show. At least that's my opinion. I don't go MVMCP for the rides. Otherwise, why pay the extra for the party?
- Watch the second parade (10:45 PM) if you can. The first one will be the most crowded. People will start staking out a spot for the first parade by 7:00 or even early. So do the second one. Also stake out a spot on Main Street to watch the parade, because that is where the "snow" will be falling.

It will be crowded, but a very festive atmosphere. Have a great time! We'll be there too!

We were at MVMCP on 12/8, and I would echo everything BrianD said, with one additional suggestion. The area around Main St and the hub was totally packed for the second parade, and people were staking out seats very early. Snow does fall on Main St., but we found it to be fairly sparse and not all that impressive - at least not impressive enough for us to want to be in that mob. We watched the second parade from Frontierland (it starts by Splash Mountain), and it was blessedly uncrowded. There were still spots available right by the ropes when the parade started. It also ends there first, so you can get to the rides in the other lands by working your way around the far side of the castle.

We were there 12/9. Eat a late lunch so you don't waste party time with a long PS meal. Hit rides early because lines are short and then head over to Tom. Land for the 5;15 show at the Galaxy theater. Rides after that--no lines for us and stake at your parade spot in Frontierland and then head over to Diamond Horseshoe ?? Salon?? for hot chocolate and cookies , then hit wishes by the water there and then head back out on main street once the fireworks crowd has fizzled a bit. Have a blast. --Del

Thanks - any other tips? We are prepared for the crowds. We usually go to WDW in June and to me it seems pretty crowded then - will it be more crowded than that. Hope I don't sound naive! :D
