Has anyone here done the MVCCP with a child with Asperger's??? We will be going in dec and this sounds like fun BUT we normally "manage" disney by staying out of the crowds and doing the opposite of whatever most are doing at that time.. Our worst experience involves watching wishes and the parade... Is it just nuts with everyone trying to do the special stuff? It seems people are giving advice that you need to "line-up" early for the special stuff- won;t work for us.... Thoughts?? GAC helpful??? The rides are not that big of a concern.

I went to MVMCP the one before thanksgiving, and it was almost deserted... the parade was crowded, but i did not have to wait for anything else!! perhaps i just got lucky. maybe someone else here has more info... but i bet it depends on when you go

First let me say that we have not yet done it, but we are going this December. We also had some concern since our DS (6) is autistic. One thing that I have read was try and get your tickets for the weeknights MVMCP. I have read that for the first several weeks in Dec the crowds are light and that the weekend nights are busier because of the locals population. We are going to be there between the 13th and 20th and we bought our tickets for the Tuesday night party. So hopefully it will not be too crowded. Hope this helps.

We went last December on a Tuesday (the 11th I believe). It was the most horrible experience we have ever had. It was a sold out night (36,000 people approx.) as it was a discount night for AP, DVC and Florida residents. I have two disabled kids (Down Syndrome and Autism). It was so crowded watching the parade and fireworks you couldn't even move. We had to wait in line to see the shows and we didn't get to see Santa until midnight .... actually we were the last family to visit with him. :santa: We never saw any characters, never got hot cocoa and cookies. I will never go again on a discount night. My kids are both in travel chairs/strollers so they won't get lost or wander away and it was terrible trying to get our family from one place to another. I would only advise this if you go on a non-discount night. People in general were rude, there were people there who didn't have wristbands, which means they weren't even supposed to be there, no CM's to remove non-party goers, etc. If your child is not used to crowds at Disney, I would not advise going to this party. Just MHO. :cool2:

we went last year with 3 kids 2 little guys and my 9yo son who has cp and aspergers hes 9 uses a wc.

tips i would say are

get a gac

see if you can use it to get in the wc viewing area for parades if he cant stand with a big crowd they may let u in there we used the one near the front of main st were the parade ends and we saw the late parade are 2
and just left right after and beat the huge rush down main st

also we saw the early parade from eating dinner at tonys we got there early for an adr timed for the parade and asked for a table on the porch and waited a while for it but was able to see the parade from there.

i would do santa 1st get it out of the way

and cookies at tomorow land wasnt that crowded

we didnt do the shows we will this year

I just wanted to mention that the christmas show they have in the area next to carousel of progress and buzz lightyear. Last year they did the show i believe on a sat or a sun, so the people could get there full time hours in. I don't remember if they had a lot of shows, or just a few. We went to the show on a sat, so we could see the other things on the party night.

It had dancing reindeer, mickey, minnies, etc, we always enjoy that show.

At least thats one alternative to see some xmas stuff.
