We re planning on hiring a car for the day during our trip next April/May & have thought of a couple of places we would nt mind seeing but would  to hear Of places that people consider must sees

We ve found a coach tour of LA/Hollywood so have going there covered but are stuck on where we can go with the freedom of having a car for the day

Any recommendations ???

Only for one day? Guess you would have to prioritize. I would guess someone from the UK would want to visit Hollywood and a California Beach as high priorities.

Secondary priorities could be Universal Studios, a television recording, Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Death Valley, Catalina Island, Santa Monica Pier, La Brea Tar Pits, etc. The list goes on and on. :)

We ve got Hollywood & LA covered as we ll be booking to go on a tour of both.

Was thinking of San Diego zoo, if anyones been there what were u thoughts?? Is it a long drive from DL???

Death Valley sounds interesting but I ve no clue what's there

My hubbys always wanted to drive on Route 66 even if it's only for a short time (few hours). Does anyone know if this would be possible with Anaheim as starting point?? have no clue how far away it actually is from Anaheim???
Would nt wanna spend most of a day doing this so would really appreciate any1s advice 
