Or should I?! :rotfl:

As some of you know, DBF and I are planning to go on a cruise for the first time next year. The 4-night Bahamian cruise on September 11th is the best one for us. Having looked into it, there are only deluxe standard rooms or rooms with views/verandas left, which leads me to think it's already filling up. We don't want to miss out, so... should I book it? I might be wrong but isn't the deposit fully refundable if we have to cancel?

I would book if I could find some confirmation that the deposit is fully refundable, or even if there was a nominal fee for cancellation. I did the same with my new booking - I can live with a £50 fee if things had to be changed.

Strange as it sounds, but sometimes, once I have committed to a decision I find it easier to see things objectively, i.e crit my decision if need be.

We will just miss you by a couple of weeks! We are booked on the Dream for the 25th September next year, our first cruise with Disney.

I would book it now, they are getting booked up quite quickly! My GF and I booked in July and got to choose a specific cabin but my brother and his GF are now coming with us but when they booked last month the could only get a guarantee they would have the same category stateroom as us.

If you put a deposit down now and your plans change you can always amend your dates or even cancel and get your deposit back as long as its 75 + days prior to sail (and not a cat 1-3).

Go for it!!! :goodvibes

I called DCL last week about this; deposits are fully refundable up to 75 days out! They are very quick at refunding as well, I have done that once before already!

Thanks guys!

Obviously I don't need much persuading because I've just put a room on hold! :yay: Hopefully DBF's boss will confirm his holidays by the 6th so we can get the deposit paid. :goodvibes

I hope he gets his holidays as requested. It will have been a heck of a week on the UK board in terms of new tickers ;)

That's great, fingers crossed he can get the time off! :thumbsup2

What cabin number have you reserved? Are you also planning to stay somewhere before/after the cruise?

I think it's 10A (Deluxe Inside Stateroom). We're planning to fly out on September 10th and either stay near the cruise terminal or onsite for that night. After the cruise we're going to stay at SSR or OKW for 13 nights. How about you?

We are doing it the opposite way round (but unfortunately not as long as you guys!), the plan is to fly out 15th September, 10 nights at either SSR or OKW then off to cruise 4 nights on the 25th! We have cabin 6502 which it cat 9A right at the front of the ship on deck 6.

Have you been watching all the updates of the Dream being built? I saw a video of the float out, the ship looks amazing! :goodvibes

14 nights is still plenty of time. Sounds like a great trip! I didn't realise you could find out your cabin number beforehand. Wonder what ours is... I'll have a look now!

ETA: I've just checked my email and it says 'Room #GTY'. What does that mean? I'm guessing there isn't a room number because we haven't actually paid anything yet.

Ooh, no I haven't but that sounds really interesting! I'm going to do some research tonight. :goodvibes

GTY means there are only a few rooms left in that category but you are guaranteed to get one (if there are none available then you would get upgraded).

Have a look over on the cruise forum, I have found it really useful! Plus thats where people are posting pics and vids of the Dream!! Plus have you seen Castaway Cay? Looks beautiful! :goodvibes

Ah ok, thanks! An upgrade would be nice. :rotfl:

I've seen quite a few pics of Castaway Cay and I agree, it looks lovely. I'll check out the cruise forum. Thanks for the tips! :)
