Must haves to bring with?

I always bring a power strip, hand sanitizer, antibacterial liquid hand soap for stateroom bathroom (I just feel that germs linger on bar soap), Clorox wipes for disinfecting things like the phones, remotes, etc and baby powder. I use the baby powder at the beach and Castaway Cay.....it's the easiest way to get sand off your feet! The powder makes it wipe off painlessly when it's time to put sandals on!

Interesting tip with the baby powder. With three toddlers that will be helpful

You guys rock! I usually frequent the RunDisney pages of this site but knew I could count on Disers to help me out for our cruise! I don't know why the TR poster had issues with the water. Glad I don't have to worry about that!

A little known secret of many DCL cruisers is the ability to get things signed by the Disney characters. We brought a pillowcase and colored markers the first cruise, next cruise we brought a nice 8x10 photo frame with colored markers.

If you drop them off at guest services on boarding day (along with a little gift for the CMs that do it if you want to), you will get it back on your last night in your stateroom signed by all the Disney characters (ie. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto, Captain Jack, etc). My DS absolutely loved it.

Here is a blog on it... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1188945&highlight=pillowcases
Oh, my gosh - LOVE this idea, esp. since it will be my middle son's b-day the day of sailing! Thanks for posting!

Sunscreen and a hat for everyone. I've had skin cancer so I preach;)

I hear ya - my DH has gotten 2 good chunks cut out of his back, so we get it!

The baby powder tip is *magical* - I'm a preschool teacher and I carry a bottle out to the sandbox every day!

Thanks, everyone - I would never have thought of the power strip and I completely forgot about ziplocs - handy for lots of things. Also reminds me that my oldest collects anything and everything he can find, so maybe some hard-sided butter tubs for shells and such so that they don't get crushed in the packing for home.

As far as I am aware, this is a big NO-NO. Just use the line in the shower.

We have dried our suits and towels on our chairs out on the balcony....I am assuming this is what the poster was talking about.

Honestly, you don't really NEED anything extra. Just a fun attitude, and a vacation state of mind.

For those that leave things on their balcony just a word of caution, it may be gone when you go back out to get it. Under some sea/wind conditions things will be blown overboard. Don't leave anything out there you don't mind loosing.

The clocks on the ship light up. No need for them or a night light. The Dream and Fantasy rooms have build in night lights, so even if the clock is not enough there is that. What it Mio? What are you using the fridge magnets for?

Thank you for letting us know that we don't need a light up clock.

Mio is a water enchancer.

I read previously that other cruisers mentioned it.

that is a list I compiled from a similar thread. Not necessarily what I'm bringing, just ideas others had. Once person used magnets to post papers on back of door.

for your souveniers! :cool1: Extra batteries for your camera! :thumbsup2 And post-it notes & a pen for leaving notes to each other! :teacher: All the above are great suggestions too. Word of caution: DCL asks that you not put anything on the balcony/verandah! There is a drying line in the shower. AND DEFINITELY YOUR DOCUMENTS!

Happy cruising! :woohoo:
