We are travelling to Disney this september and need some ideas where to eat. It will be myself, my wife and our 2 1/2 year old son. I have booked Chef Mickeys and Planet Hollywood so far. Any other suggestions that you all may have? He is big into Handy Manny and Mickey so we are trying to stick with character dining. If you can include the locations of the resturants so I can check them out.

Last time we went we tried Crystal Palace (Breakfast) and the place at the Polynesian that serves tonga toast (awesome by the way). And we also ate at the 50's diner at Hollywood Studios as well.

Some of the restaurants we like are

Sci Fi (Hollywood Studios)
1900 Park Fare Character Breakfast and Supper (Grand Floridian)
Crystal Palace Character Breakfast (Magic Kingdom)
Chef's de France - Lunch (Remy visits tables)

We tried Akershus Character Breakfast (Princesses) and we did not like the food but character interaction was very good.

So far I have booked these

Planet Hollywood - Dinner
Crystal Palace - Dinner
Hollywood and Vine - Lunch
Chef Mickeys - Breakfast
Kona - Breakfast (Tonga Toast :-) )

I agree with Sci Fi as well. You may also want to look into the Cape May Cafe for breakfast. It's at the Beach Club.

For counter service, I'd recommend Cosmic Rays in MK.

Unless you have been to Planet Hollywood and you really like it, I wouldn't go. Get a reservation at somewhere more fun for your family - maybe T-rex? Or save your dining out for one of the parks or resorts.

We of course love Ohana dinner and they have fun activities during the dinner for the kids. We really liked the Akershus dinner at Norway - even my husband and son liked the interactions with the princesses!

I was going to suggest T-Rex if you aren't using a DDP.

Tusker House breakfast at AK is better than Chef Mickey's.

Akershus is my favorite princess one.

We want to take my son to Chef Mickeys so he can eat with Mickey. We have tried twice to go to Chef Mickeys and could never get a reservation and we finally did this trip.
