Must Do Restaurants

We love Sci-Fi Diner. Great milkshakes and just love the theme.

and
Nine Dragons. Went there twice last trip and loved the food and the services was fantastic. Oriental cuisine is my favourite any-way but this was FAB. I can't remember what they are called but hey have ice-cream in a cripsy batter with a sweet sauce which is delicious !!!!

My must-do if we return to Disney World, which we may do soon if we move to Orlando in April like my husband wants to do, is Mara's. It is counter service, but the African stew is not typical food court sort of stuff. It was so good when I was there in September that I made a second trip back out to Animal Kingdom Lodge from the Pop Century just to get myself some more.

By the way, I am a Type 1 diabetic so I really have to watch the carbs with my insulin; and the AKL is very diabetes-friendly so that is something to consider if anyone in your travel group happens to be on a low-carbohydrate diet for any of the reasons that people go on such a diet. This is not your typical burgers and fries so typical in theme parks. It is healthier.

Kouzzina is definitely one of my new favorites! Delicious food and great atmosphere.

Another new favorite is Via Napoli, the new restaurant in the Italy pavilion at EPCOT. At lunchtime the atmosphere is simply fresh and beautiful, and the food is delicious!

Whenever I go with friends we always have to make a stop at Tony's Town Square. Somehow, we can never seem to pass it up.

And, of course, Le Cellier in the Canada pavilion. Simply delicious.

My must do for restaurants is going to Fort Wilderness for breakfast. I love how quiet the camp ground is early in the morning, and the country style buffet breakfast is always very good.

For my family, (but we haven't been to bunches)- the must-dos are:

Pizza Planet
Rainforest Cafe

Also, we have been to the Hoop De Doo review which I would highly recommend to anyone. My boys don't like "character" dining but really enjoyed themselves. It's fun for all ages!!!

I am anxious to see other's opinions as we want to "branch" out a bit.

Yak and Yeti the chicken Lo Mein.

Capt Grill the crab legs.mmmmm.

Cosmic Rays fun atmosphere.

We always do Norway, (but it is not for the food.) :rotfl:

Crystal Palace (for pooh bear)

and

Our fav for fun, food, atmosphere everything is Mickey's BBQ.

I agree both our May and AUg trip I am trying new rest, our regs are getting same ole same ole.. I am adding Sci Fi, San Anns, Cape May for breakfast, and Rose and Crown (only ate there once.)

[QUOTE=Blackbeltdisneygirl;39954766 Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Dinner Package b/c of the show. We didn't get in last time, so we had to do it this time.

Have you ever eaten at Hollywood & Vine? We tried it twice and didn't like it at all and have spoken to others who ate there and felt the same way. It just isn't good buffet food IMO.
We Love LeCellier and Raglan Road. We also like to go to House of Blues. We get the $25 gift certificate from restaurant.com when they have the 80% off which they are having right now. For TS when we are at Magic Kingdon we always have lunch at Harbour House and eat upstairs which is almost always quite and not crowded. We did go in November with friends and almost didn't find a table upstairs. I think the secret is getting out.:rotfl:

I'll be traveling to Orlando in May but plan to stay off-site. So we're going to be hitting a number of restaurants listed on the Orlando Sentinel's best restaurants list as chosen by readers.

Apparently I can't post links until I have 10 posts. But here is the link in non-url format.

On our November 2010 trip, our top two resturants were SciFi Dine In and Coral Reef.

You will read alot of negative reviews about Coral Reef, but I have to tell you, all four of us agreed it was our favorite meal. I had roasted pork with veggies and polenta that was to DIE for, hubby and son had the steak. Hubby says that was one of the best steaks he's ever eaten, and he knows his steak.

SciFi- I'm taking my son (who didnt go in Nov, he's 10) this December, and I can't wait for him to see this place. The atmosphere is awesme, the food is sooo good. The burgers are the best on property, IMHO.

Every year we do not leave without dining at Artist Point (WL) and The California Grill (Contemporary). These are both AWESOME restaurants!! Hope this helps.

I was told by my aunt that her and my uncle HAVE to hit Teppan Edo in Epcot and Ohana at the Polynesian Resort at EVERY trip. We booked those two. We really wanted to eat at the castle this time, so we booked that. Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Dinner Package b/c of the show. We didn't get in last time, so we had to do it this time. We love 50's Prime Time b/c the kids love that my son got busted for having his elbows on the table, and Papa got busted for tattling on him. Boma b/c of viewing the animals at night with the night vision goggles, and Tusker House b/c my hubby and dad love it. We are doing Crystal Palace again, but this time for breakfast to switch it up, and Akershus b/c we love the Princess Procession and such, but the food at lunch wasn't the best. We decided to try it for breakfast also. Sounds like a lot, but we are there for 11 days... We loved the atmosphere of TREX, but it's out of pocket, so you have to really want to go there if you are on the DP. Last time we did Boatwrights, and really liked it. The corn bread is to die for.

Wow, you are making me feel like I made the right choices!

We have-
Ohana
Boma
Tusker House
Akershus
CRT
Boatwrights
Crystal Palace

all on our ADRs right now! :)

We also have-
Chef Mickey's for the arrival dinner (we won't do MK until day 3 so we wanted the kids to see Mickey and Minnie right away). Coral Reef and Planet Hollywood.

Fancy a pint

Rose and Crown Pub is one of my favorites. The fish and chips and "surf and turf" are excellent.

Our must do's are Coral Reef and Crystal Palace (for breakfast, before park opening!).

How is the Coral Reef? I booked it for my trip this may, and haven't really seen any reviews for it. The atmosphere looks beautiful, but I'm hoping the food is just as good!

The food is excellent!! My DS loved the Mahi Mahi last year and still talks about it :) My mom and I were able to order an appetizer as a meal and got a bigger portion, and my DD thought the fries were amazing :)
Don't even get me started on the desserts!

If you're lucky, you'll get a table right next to the tank but there's really not a bad view in the place.

As I mentioned this is our first full day dinner tradition, we love everything about Coral Reef!:lovestruc

The theaming is amazing, the light reflects off of the water, it is truely beautiful.

We always ask to be seated near the tank and they always say that they will do their best but can't promise anything - we have ALWAYS been seated right next to the tank!

We always order the NY strip and we feel it's as good or better than the strip at LeCellier. The mashed potatoes are awesome. The chocolate wave - well it's chocolate and raspberry, my two favorite tastes - need I say more!

If you check out the food picture thread you will find some really good recent pictures.

Just curious, what appitizer did you order? I have always wished they had crab cakes as an entree.

I do remember it was a sampler and there were crab cakes in it - there were 3 items and a small cup of soup. It was filling but next time I'll be getting the Mahi Mahi ;)

We love Sci-Fi Drive in at DHS.
We love ohana
We have recently become big fans of beaches and cream at the beach resort.
One of the most underrated restaurants we think in the world is Big River Brewing Company. It is such an expierence to be able to sit outside on the boarwalk listening and watching the entertainment, while illuminations is going off. It really is a Disney pleasure.
