Must do Character Meals

I think we have done them all and my favorite was Park Fare.
The dinner with Cinderella and her step sisters and mom. fun!

we haven't done any yet...but for our upcoming trip (in a week and a half...yay!:woohoo:) we have ADR's at Ohana for Breakfast, Hollywood and Vine for lunch, and Cape May for another breakfast. Im HOPING that those turn out to be good choices. :)

Be aware that not all character meals have the same level of character interaction. Princess meals are annoying because in my experience, the princesses only make one round and then they disappear. Heaven forbid, your family princess needs a potty break at that moment.

Character meals with a mix of mostly "plush" characters are very interactive, and they tend to do laps around the restaurant, greeting everyone at least once, sometimes two or three times. When my little one needed a potty break, we returned to our table to find her autograph book open and "Baloo was here!":) scrawled across the page. He came back to say "hi" two more times before we left.

But to be honest, the best character meal I've experienced was actually Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. The characters were just as entertaining and interactive as at Chef Mickey's in Florida, but the food was much better in California.

We love crystal palace! In 2011 we did 1900 park fare and are doing it again this time as well as CRT xx

We are big into character meals and have done them all over the last couple of years. Our least favorite is Garden Grill and it's primarily because DD and I aren't huge meat eaters and didn't care for the food. I remember the rice and salad being really good, but for the price, it doesn't work for us. I liked the rotating restaurant and characters though, but it's no because of our food preferences.

Our fav is breakfast at Crystal Palace. Great food, great characters, nice bright atmosphere, and it's at MK. We've never done lunch or dinner so I can't comment on the food.

We also love Tusker House breakfast, 1900 Park Fare breakfast, and Hollywood and Vine breakfast. The food has been great (it's hard to screw up a breakfast buffet) and we enjoyed the characters. I'd put off taking DD to H&V because she was older but because we wanted to do all the meals at some point, we finally went when she was 10. She LOVED Hollywood and Vine and asked to do it again the following year!! Never had lunch or dinner at any of these.

We like the food (breakfast) at Chef Mickey's too but both times we've been there have felt like the characters were in a HUGE RUSH! I know that interaction with characters will differ from person to person and visit to visit, but so far our interaction there was so rushed, it kind of sucked. We'd still go back though for the food. Never had lunch or dinner there.

I thought I wouldn't like 1900 Park Fare for dinner (I'm picky) but we all ended up really enjoying it!! Characters are fun and I found many things at the buffet that I really liked! We've only done it during free dining (2x) because it's expensive, but we will definitely continue to go.

We really didn't like CRT (breakfast). We wanted to do it to say we've done it so we did, but the food was mediocre at best and ridiculously expensive. Glad we did it but unless I have another daughter in the future, we won't be back. Akershus is great for princesses and the food was a little better (and cheaper!)

Have a great trip!

Our must do's are ...

Chef Mickey's the first day of our trip, breakfast or
dinner. It gets the Big 5 out of the way so the kids aren't begging to stop every time we see them.

A breakfast in MK before it opens. Walking down Main Street without a crowd - I love CP b-fast but next trip we will try CRT.

Our fam favs (me,dh,ds' 9&5, dd 2& 3mo) are ohanas bfast, and hollywood n vine lunch. Cp before mk opens is a great bfast choice. Weve done akershus for bfast and dinner and probably wont be back. 1900 bfast was good but the characters didnt linger too long. Used to love chef micks but after we all got sick 2x kinds ruined it for us. But we do enjoy a character meal every trip and everyone will find thier favs.
