Must-do at Shula's?

Allymouse: The bar itself isn't that large (we always eat at the bar when we dine at Shulas) and if there is a convention at the hotel, it's often full most of the evening. They do have a lounge with hightop tables and that's an option if the bar is full.

Or closed. Twice before we went to have dinner only to find the bar/lounge closed for a private business function.

9 days until our trip! Which means it's 12 days until our first visit to Shula's!

What are the must-try menu items? What's your favorite app, side dish, or dessert? Tell me what you feel a dinner at Shula's would not be complete without. (Um, besides steak. That's a given.)

Be sure to let us know what you had in a TR. We don't leave the Magnolia State until May, 2012 but we plan on going to Shula's! I look forward to your reviews.

No matter what steak you order, get the lobster mashed potatoes to go with it!!!!!

App: Crab cake

Side: Creamed Spinach

Dessert: Souffle

Didnt care for: the baked potato

I'm a Ribeye fan - I think they call it a Cowboy steak.....

But save room for the Chocolate Souffle.....my wife will make me go even if we eat dinner someplace else.....

I posted my review (with pictures) of Shula's in my recent dining report.

I love their French Onion Soup and my husband loves his New York Strip.

Bone-In Prime Rib
As of last Thursday - they took this off the menu - Prime Rib off the bone is the only way to get it. The menu on Disneyworld.com and the dis were both wrong.

Cowboy steak, lightly blackened, med rare.....yum.... sooo good!
And of course the molten lava choc. cake!!!!

And of course the molten lava choc. cake!!!!

X2 on the lava cake!! allow 30 mins

also, the crab cake and mushrooms were excellent.

They now have a kids menu and our daughter loved the mac & cheese, it was excellent and only $4.99.

Also had no problems sharing from our main course steaks with the kids.

Service was excellent!!

LetsgoSteelers:
What was on the childrens menu? Don't see one listed on any sites.

Everything I had read or seen was that they didn't have a kids menu which is why I was surprised when they gave us one.

They had the mac n cheese, I think chicken strips, some sort of steak option, small fillet I think which wasn't on the menu from what I recall but we asked and I think it was $30 something, for that we would have ordered a regular steak and split it for our girls. I don't remember what else they had...

we ordered one order of mac & cheese which they split and then also gave them some of our steak, also ordered a side of mashed potatoes which we all shared. the sides were fairly large. my wife really wanted mushrooms but she's the only one that likes them so our waiter brought her a half order...very nice of him to do that. Juan our waiter was the man!!

and the sourdough bread was delicious!!

Dessert: Molten Lava Cake.

We had the souffle once, but were disappointed. It's not very chocolately compared to the molten lava cake, and not as sweet. But it depends on what you want. Very chocolatey and very sweet - Lava cake. Barely chocolately and lightly sweet - Souffle.
