Must-buy scrapping items at Disney? Or freebies not too miss?

Is the Mickey confetti in a package? Or is it just loose? Just Mickey shaped?

If it is a birthday or celebrtation, and they know about it, they usually sprinkle it loose on the table at a resturant. However you can buy a small package for around $5 at many of the stores including the World of Memories.

For my birthday in July, DH gave me $100 in Disney Dollars to use just for scrapbooking and to NOT feel guilty spending it. The money is not even in the amount we budgeted to take with us.
:cheer2:

I LOVE your DH!!! That is a great Gift!!!

omg!!!!!! i can't believe that they sell that stuff now!!!!!!!! that just seems ridiculous to me!!! i guess whatever it is, they'll sell anything!!!

I brought home those mickey coasters that they put under your drinking glasses in the resorts. Some of the restraurants have coasters too. I also brought home the picks they put in your drinks at Brown Derby, they are shaped like the MGM water tower. It is amazing how you see things so differently when you are a scrapper!

I told Dh that there is an entire store in DTD that has scrapbooking supplies and his reply was "Maybe I should have given you more! $100 wont last you long" lol

I just noticed that my counter has flipped again 1 month and 2 weeks :Pinkbounc

What do you bring to put all your scrapping stuff that you've collected into??? I'm a newbie and I am bringing ziplock baggies for various reasons but what kind of container should I plan on bringing (I'll leave it in the room) to hold all the maps, etc.???

I'm going to bring some type of hard file folder - to keep the paper stuff from bending in the suitcases.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm going to print this thread and bring it with me so I don't forget anything. I cannot wait to hit the scrapbooking store at DTD!

I actually totally forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder I added it to my list. I have a hard plastic 12X12 case that I will bring. I usually use it for pages I have completed but havent filed in an album yet.

Where did you get that case? I've not seen anything like that before.

My BIG souvenir for me is shopping at the scrapbooking store. DH is very understanding. I married such a great guy. I put myself on a budget, though, for scrapping, $20 a month, and he better not think I'm holding myself to that one while we are in Florida. :) I'm not sold on the albums they have there, but I love the papers and stickers.

I always grab a couple extra park maps. I know I have the front of each park map that says the name of the park, but I also like to have the actually map. So, extras are necessary. I like the idea of the coasters.

From our first trip in 1999 I saved everything. I have all the letters from the front desk talking about the hurricane. I have all the receipts. And, slowly I've thrown them away, because I've never gotten around to scrapping them. That is my next project.

I bought them at Michaels a while back. They are dark green and about 1/2 inch thick.

I was thinking about taking a plastic shoebox size totes thingie 12x6x6 I think??? I am not bringing anything there to scrap with but will be picking up stuff to bring home...confetti, maps, fastpasses, etc. I thought it being plastic would keep things contained better and also from getting destroyed??? Advice/opinions???

if you are that worried about your stuff getting bent, i'd get one of these...

cropper hopper paper holder

i have many of these and they are awesome...nothing will get bent in these...

I usually take a large manilla envelope with a piece or two of carboard in it. Has worked great. :flower:

In one of my books, I used a couple of the printed wax paper for donuts, etc to make pockets to hold my maps...

Also, saved a mickey bar wrapper, cleaned it up and used it...
