Music: What are you listening to??

It really depends on the day, if I’m stressed it’s Doris Day singing the show tunes for Calamity Jane, the rest of the time it’s the work “ radio” that seems to only know the same 18 songs on repeat! Other than that anything by the Sherman Brothers, the Pet Shop Boys, ABBA, good songs from the 70’s and 80’s ( I know I’m old ) or some lovely relaxing classical stuff or meditation music. I’ve had a heck of a lot going on over the last few years. Mental health is more important than ever. Been sorting through DM’s cd collections to sort her things out. She wants her art stuff re-organising too. Gotta ge more Disney songs going while I sort all that out.

Our Asian restaurant shows video music from 1980-85...can barely hear the music but so ingrain into my psyche... but all that hair and classic clothing...oh here is a goody... every body wants to rule the world...oh the memories of a 70 year old man

A real classic in his day, the late 60's, early 70's, Sly Stone has passed away, 82 years old. He and his family and group really made some amazing music in their heyday, a combination of funk, soul, R&B, rock, and psychedelic music---Dance to the Music, Everyday People, Thank You, Hot Fun In the Summertime, I Want to Take You Higher, Family Affair and many others.. His group was family, racially integrated and multi-gendered. Along the way, Sly certainly had his demons, but seemingly straight in his later years.

Thanks, Sly, along with your family Stone, for so many wonderful memories that do and will live on.

And your music lives on in others
