Rest in peace, Buster. Your biggest hit song along the way of your various pseudonyms was this snappy Hot, Hot, Hot. Seems like it falls somewhere between Celebration and the Cha-Cha Slide at most weddings. It does get the people up and dancing, having fun. Thank you.

I read of his death earlier in the week and it flummoxed me a bit. Shouldn’t have as he had serious health problems that he recently made public. 4th stage cancer and a brain tumor I think.
I recall going to the Mercer Art Center with my girlhood bestie to see the New York Dolls after reading about them in the Village Voice. Even remember what shoes I wore, lol. It was one of my first live music events as a teenager and made quite an impression on me and my understanding of music. Bowie, Talking Heads, Television, Kate Bush, et al came later but the Dolls opened the gates.

The NYTIMES wrote an obituary that highlighted his extensive career and pointed out his droll sense of humor. I’m hoping someone will make a movie about those times in the city and feature him but you never know.
Yeah, another bites the dust, sigh.
