music on dvcmember.com website irritates me

Music starts blaring on the reg disneyworld.com too.. I have learned to turn off speakers anytime I go to either site..

But count me in.. on the crazy side ... about the music too.

I think auto-music on any website is annoying!

The other thing that really annoys me about the dvcmember site is that for some reason @ work I cannot close the flash piece that appears on the main page. This causes me to have to switch to another page in order to have full access to the menu.

Not just you, David. It has gotten a lot worse in the past couple of years. It used to be you could bypass it by pressing #1 right away. Now they make you listen to the whole spiel before they let you off the hook!

Does the music that starts playing when you log into dvcmember.com irritate anyone else? I don't know why it has to play every time I log in or return to the main page after having turned it off... I wish there was a way to permanantly turn it off...

Also, why are they using African music to sell Aulani anyways? Sounds like they had some music left over from when they were advertising AKV and figured it was "close enough"!

It's funny you should mention that. Just yesterday, I went to the DVC site and thought, "This music sounds African, not Hawaiian." Glad I'm not alone!

Same here no more music or pop up.

Not sure why that is for some and not for others, hopefully it will go the wayside for everyone.

I just logged on, and both the music and pop-ups are gone for me

I soo hated both. The only time it did not happen was when I was on my Ipad, because Adobe flashplayer is not on there.

The music didn't bother me but the popup always did. I normally have the sound off on my computer anyway unless I'm listening to a grad school lecture (and then I probably shouldn't be on dvc website)

Hate the music also, glad to see this post! Recycled seems to be a reoccurring theme at Disney, Didn't the do the same thing for the new DHS Parade???

Almost redundant to respond as I haven't seen anyone who likes it, but it drives me nuts too. I personally hate websites that are 90% eye and ear candy with poor content. Other than the popup ad and music, the dvcmember website is actually pretty good in this regard, but I loathe the regular Disney/WDW site for this reason. All the excess animation, music, and grahics slow the site down for most people and makes it a nightmare to navigate and find anything useful. It has gotten a bit better, but its still not good.

On my Windows PC the Pop up and music beginning playing each time I log in even though I muted it during my previous session. On my Mac the pop up still shows itself but the music has remained on mute from the previous session on the DVC member website.

I would rate dvcmember.com as my most irritating online experience....and that is only because of the music. It is so 1997. I guarantee you that, if they took a poll, over 90% of the user base would say to drop the music. Yet somewhere there is a webmaster patting himself or herself on the back for thinking of it.

Same with me. I turn it down so low that it is OFF.
