MUSH! Going to Alaska - August 19, 2013 7 Night from Vancouver

Can you repost the facebook link? I can't access it from the previous one, it says its expired!

My family will be on this cruise as well. Just booked all of our excursions, on my own and saved $400 off Disney pricing!
Can't wait til August! Is there a FE list yet?

We have just booked this cruise, too! So looking forward to it - visiting Alaska is a dream come true. :)

Am now up to my eyes in planning - so much to think about! Look forward to chatting more and hearing everyone's plans for excursions etc. Thanks for the links at the beginning - they have been really useful.

Would love the Facebook link, too, please.

:welcome: to both of you!! Our original leader who set up the thread has changed her plans and is no longer on this cruise, so we're all just "hanging out" together. No official FE list has been started, but there are a bunch of us who want to participate. If anyone wants to be in charge, step right up!

I could add you to the FB group if you PM your FB info to me.

Hi everyone! I'd love to join in the conversation. This cruise will be our 3rd with DCL, but our first on the Wonder and first time to Alaska. It will be me, DH, our son who will be 12, and our 2 daughters who will be 9 and 7. We will also have my MIL and both of my parents.

Can't wait :goodvibes

My fiance is very concerned about the weather in Alaska in August, can anyone give insite on the weather.. We dont mind chilly but we dont want alot of rain.
:scared1:

My hubby and I went with DCL to Alaska in 2011 in August, and we found the weather to be quite pleasant for the most part. We had a beautiful day sailing up Tracey Arm - I stayed out on deck all day and it only got chilly near the end of the afternoon/early evening. Our Skagway day was nice - cool, with a bit of drizzle but not too much and the locals said that's considered a nice day there! Ketchikan was nice too, overcast, but not too cold - even after snorkeling! Unfortunately our Juneau day was a complete bust. It was a blustery, rainy day and most excursions were cancelled. We wandered around the shops for a bit but were pretty miserable so we hung out on the ship for most of the day.

There is often rain in the ports in Alaska, but you could have beautiful days as well, you just never know. I would just keep in mind that it's a good possibility that it will likely rain on at least one of your port days - but even when it did for us, we still enjoyed our trip. It was such a beautiful place that the bit of rain we had (minus Juneau!) did not impact our trip at all!

We are on this cruise which is pretty much the exact week of the month we sailed in 2011 and can't wait!!! I just hope our Juneau day is much nicer this time and I can actually go whale watching!

Hope this helps!

Aby

I know some have started a Facebook page, and don't know if anyone has started a fish extender, but I would be willing to compile the list. I know that we are still a bit far from the trip, but I am starting to think about all things Alaska!
If anyone is interested, we will need:

Disboards name
Stateroom #
Adult names
Children name, gender and age

Once we get this list rolling, we can set up a meet on the first day on board but we have plenty of time for that.

We were talking about this on Facebook today and I was just coming to post the same thing :thumbsup2

Linda are you in the facebook group?

I was going to post a list on the Facebook group. There everyone get edit it themselves and the group is secret so the info isn't public.

Let me know what you think.

I am not on the Facebook group, but that isn't a big deal. My thought was that I would collect the info through private messages, and email out a list later, so it wouldn't be public here either. Either way is fine, whatever the group decides, but if you do it through Facebook, it may exclude those who don't use Facebook.

How about we do both? You collect on the Dis and I'll collect on Facebook and we can combine them when it gets closer. That way we'll get the people who only use one or the other :)

Great idea!

We are just joining this cruise. First time cruisers, me, dh and son, 11. Can I get an invite for the Facebook group too?

Hi Lisa

I think I might be late in the game here - I just discovered how to access messages and how to reply on this board! I sent you a message through facebook Lisa to request acceptance into the Facebook group!

This is our first Disney Cruise and also our children's (age 4, 7, 9) first DISNEY experience! Looking forward to all of it! Will be traveling with my husband, our 3 children and my parents (possibly mother in law as well).

Is there a fish extenders group set up (I have heard from friends that being a part of this is an absolute MUST!).

We are from Canada! Can't wait to show Alaska to my husband and children (I went about 20 years ago!).

That sounds like a perfect plan. I have been away, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner!
